Trump releases banger statement, being called a ‘confession’ as House GOP vows to reign in rogue DoJ

As the left goes nuclear over former President Donald Trump’s latest statement about the Department of Justice’s seizure of documents from his private residence, House Republicans banded together to fight the “brazen politicization” of the DOJ.

In an email reportedly sent to Trump’s Save America PAC on Friday, the former Commander in Chief wrote, “President Barack Hussein Obama kept 33 million pages of documents, much of them classified. How many of them pertained to nuclear? Word is, lots!”

Democrats immediately pounced on the language used in the donation solicitation email and claimed it was a clear “Confession” that he had nuclear-related documents in his possession.

“Confession,” Kim Masters with The Hollywood Reporter tweeted in response.

Politico reporter Andrew Desiderio pondered whether it was indeed an admission of guilt with his post that stated, “Is this new Trump statement an admission that he took nuclear-related documents from the White House?”

Earlier Friday morning, House Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) vowed to put the brakes on Attorney General Merrick Garland’s unbridled power over the DOJ.

“House Republicans are committed to immediate oversight, accountability, and a fulsome investigation to provide needed transparency and answers to the American people regarding Joe Biden and his administration’s weaponization of the Department of Justice and FBI against Joe Biden’s political opponent,” she said in a press conference.

“President Donald Trump is Joe Biden’s most likeliest political opponent in 2024, and this is less than 100 days from critical midterm elections. The FBI raid of  President Trump is a complete abuse and overreach of its authority,” she continued.

“And as the American people know, unfortunately, this is the same agency leadership that protected Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and continues to protect Hunter Biden. The same agency leadership that perpetrated the false Russia hoax for years,” Stefanik lamented.

“But the American people are smart, and they have had enough. It is unfortunately why there is a fundamental lack of trust in these agencies, and the American people deserve answers. A House Republican majority will leave no stone unturned when it comes to transparency and accountability into the brazen politicization of Joe Biden’s DOJ and FBI targeting their political opponents,” she promised.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro had a different take, predicting that the inside source that supposedly outed the documents that Trump allegedly had illegally could be none other than “completely untrustworthy” Christopher Steele who was responsible for compiling a fake dossier on Trump in an effort to squash his bid for the presidency.

Others commented on the left’s continued attempts to discredit Trump like the Twitter account of Catturd who mocked the FBI’s raid on Trump’s home with a photo claiming to be the nuclear code that he had in his possession.

Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec predicted that the chatter about nuclear codes being part of the seized materials was only a cover to protect the affidavit explaining the raid from ever being released to the public.
