In the latest in a never-ending series of examples of really dumb criminals doing stupid things, a Georgia murder suspect effectively turned himself in after he got the brilliant idea of calling 911 to complain about dissatisfaction with his order at an Atlanta-area McDonald’s.
On Friday, 24-year-old Antoine Sims was dining at a Kennesaw Mickey D’s location with his fiancée when he became irate over his fries not being warm enough to his liking, entering into a verbal argument with the franchise owner, leading to his placing the call that would ultimately lead to his arrest.
Sims, who was out on bond for his role in the 2018 murder case of a woman who was shot during a drug deal after which he took the car with her body in it to the Gwinnett County subdivision and set it on fire, failed to consider that there was a warrant out for his arrest for missing a court date, FOX 5 of Atlanta reported.
“They’re lukewarm but they’re not hot,” Sims said to a responding officer.
“I just asked if we could get some fresh fries,” he added, complaining that he had asked for another order but was, instead, offered a refund that wouldn’t be reflected in his account for days.

However, a McDonald’s worker provided a different account, saying that “Sims got rowdy and threatened, ‘you better give me f—king fresh fries, motherf—ker,’ he tells the officer in the footage. Sims then ‘shoved’ his food and drink at the man, he claimed,” according to the New York Post.
After speaking with the owner who said that Sims was out of control in the restaurant, police were going to issue him a criminal trespass warning.
“The officer spoke with the owner who said he was causing a scene, he threw a drink and he wanted him to leave and to be issued a criminal trespass warning,” said Officer David Buchanan of the Kennesaw Police.
But when they ran a check on his name they learned of his criminal record and that he was wanted, leading to Sims taking off running, leading police on a chase that ended in an apartment complex where he was tased and taken into custody.
“It’s very unusual that someone knowing he is wanted by the police would call the police,” Buchanan said.
Twitter users reacted to Sims’ genius idea to call the cops.

Not when you’re one of the dumbest people in America, apparently.

The incident at the Georgia restaurant is the second time in recent days that dissatisfaction with a fast food order has sparked an angry response from a thug that made headlines.
Earlier this month, a 23-year-old worker at a New York City McDonald’s was shot in the neck after an argument with a 20-year-old over cold fries.

Fortunately, the situation in Kennesaw didn’t see similar violence considering Sims’ criminal background.
