President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID again, leading some to speculate that maybe it’s time for another shot, or two, or five hundred.
“Hey folks, Joe Biden here. Tested positive this morning. Going to be working from home for the next couple days. And I’m feeling fine, everything’s good. But Commander and I got a little work to do,” the president announced in a video posted Saturday afternoon, referencing his dog.
The positive test came exactly nine days after he’d originally tested positive for COVID on July 21st. He subsequently quarantined until testing negative on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The president’s announcement spawned a flurry of mockery, derision, and even lecturing given as he’s doubled vaxxed and double boosted.
Those who are skeptical of the coronavirus vaccine said that perhaps he should take a hint and accept that he’s “been conned.”
Look:
If you still need a booster after being fully vaxxed…
and still need to get tested after being fully vaxxed…
and still need to wear a mask after being fully vaxxed…
and still get #Covid after being fully vaxxed, it’s probably time that you admit that you’ve been conned.— Bill-i-am (@FedFin090) July 31, 2022
I guess your 17 shots and six masks didn’t do you any good. #youcantfixstupid

Others blasted him for the “misinformation” he once spouted about the coronavirus vaccine, which clearly doesn’t stop transmission of the virus.

So did he actually not get vaccinated or was that statement just misinformation? https://t.co/EU3kL5W546

Others stuck it to him for having previously mocked then-President Donald Trump, who at the time was unvaccinated and unboosted, for contracting the virus in 2020.

Trump never tested positive twice… you manage to fail at every level.

Most of the folks responding to the president jokingly chided him for not getting enough booster shots and wearing enough masks.
Look:
Time for another shot Joey! I think your handlers are telling you it’s covid so they can pump you full of more drugs to keep you upright.

Take a few more boosters 💉💉

You need 5 more boosters then you might be safe for 2 months. Lol
— Charles Raposa (@charles_raposa) July 31, 2022
Maybe you need 10 more boosters
— Meansurphy (@Meansurphy1) July 31, 2022
Maybe you no wearing enough masks and you have had enough boosters. Try 3 or 4 more putz

Physician to the President Dr. Kevin O’Connor has for his part preemptively blamed the president’s latest diagnosis on the medication he’d originally used for treatment, Paxlovid.
“After testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, the President tested positive late Saturday morning, by antigen testing. This in fact represents ‘rebound’ positivity,” he said in a memo.
Paxlovid is reportedly associated with a condition called “rebound.”
“A small minority of people who take Paxlovid see a rebound effect. Around 1% to 2% of people taking Paxlovid in Pfizer’s clinical trial tested positive for the coronavirus after having tested negative. Rebound rates are around 5% among the tens of thousands of people who’ve taken the drug in real-life settings,” according to NBC News.
And apparently, the president is among the 5 percent. So was Dr. Anthony Fauci, wouldn’t you know it.
“After I finished the 5 days of Paxlovid, I reverted to negative on an antigen test for 3 days in a row. And then on the fourth day, just to be absolutely certain, I tested myself again. I reverted back to positive,” Fauci revealed during an appearance late last month at Foreign Policy magazine’s Global Health Forum event.
The White House is 2/2 on the Paxlovid rebound effect — Fauci and now Biden.
