Biden gets round 2 of Covid, people have thoughts: Time for another shot, Joey … back to the basement

President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID again, leading some to speculate that maybe it’s time for another shot, or two, or five hundred.

“Hey folks, Joe Biden here. Tested positive this morning. Going to be working from home for the next couple days. And I’m feeling fine, everything’s good. But Commander and I got a little work to do,” the president announced in a video posted Saturday afternoon, referencing his dog.

The positive test came exactly nine days after he’d originally tested positive for COVID on July 21st. He subsequently quarantined until testing negative on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The president’s announcement spawned a flurry of mockery, derision, and even lecturing given as he’s doubled vaxxed and double boosted.

Those who are skeptical of the coronavirus vaccine said that perhaps he should take a hint and accept that he’s “been conned.”

Look:

Others blasted him for the “misinformation” he once spouted about the coronavirus vaccine, which clearly doesn’t stop transmission of the virus.

Look:

Others stuck it to him for having previously mocked then-President Donald Trump, who at the time was unvaccinated and unboosted, for contracting the virus in 2020.

Look:

Most of the folks responding to the president jokingly chided him for not getting enough booster shots and wearing enough masks.

Physician to the President Dr. Kevin O’Connor has for his part preemptively blamed the president’s latest diagnosis on the medication he’d originally used for treatment, Paxlovid.

“After testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, the President tested positive late Saturday morning, by antigen testing. This in fact represents ‘rebound’ positivity,” he said in a memo.

Paxlovid is reportedly associated with a condition called “rebound.”

“A small minority of people who take Paxlovid see a rebound effect. Around 1% to 2% of people taking Paxlovid in Pfizer’s clinical trial tested positive for the coronavirus after having tested negative. Rebound rates are around 5% among the tens of thousands of people who’ve taken the drug in real-life settings,” according to NBC News.

And apparently, the president is among the 5 percent. So was Dr. Anthony Fauci, wouldn’t you know it.

“After I finished the 5 days of Paxlovid, I reverted to negative on an antigen test for 3 days in a row. And then on the fourth day, just to be absolutely certain, I tested myself again. I reverted back to positive,” Fauci revealed during an appearance late last month at Foreign Policy magazine’s Global Health Forum event.
