Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito responded to his foreign critics with mockery, jabbing disgraced outgoing UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and entitled royal Prince Harry in remarks delivered during a speech in Rome where he skewered the duo of meddling Brits along with other western leaders who lambasted the court.
The 72-year-old conservative jurist who spearheaded the historical ruling by the nation’s highest court to overturn abortion rights landmark Roe v. Wade was the recipient of harsh criticism from across the pond after the decision which was a major blow to the anti-life agenda of the leftist global elite.
While delivering the keynote speech at the Religious Liberty Summit at Notre Dame Law School, Alito dismissed the input of foreigners who should have more pressing concerns in their own countries that merit their attention instead of opining on U.S. domestic legal and political matters.
“I’ve had a few second thoughts over the last few weeks since I had the honor this term of writing I think the only Supreme Court decision in the history of that institution that has been lambasted by a whole string of foreign leaders who felt perfectly fine commenting on American law,” he said.

“One of these was former Prime Minister Boris Johnson but he paid the price,” joked Alito, referring to the disheveled British leader’s recent resignation under a stink cloud of scandal, much to the amusement of the audience which laughed and applauded.
“But others are still in office,” he continued. “President Macron and Prime Minister Trudeau I believe are two, but what really wounded me, what really wounded me was when the Duke of Sussex addressed the United Nations and seemed to compare the decision whose name may not be spoken with the Russian attack on Ukraine,” referring to the emasculated Harry’s bitter rant before the UN General Assembly.
“Despite this temptation, I am not going to talk about cases from other countries,” Alito said. “All I am going to say is that ultimately if we are to win the battle to protect religious freedom in an increasingly secular society we will need more than positive law.”
Justice Alito’s remarks during his first public appearance since the monumental final week of one of the most consequential sessions by the SCOTUS in history were made last week but only drew attention after the school made them available online on Thursday.

“We’re living through a pandemic that continues to ravage communities in every corner of the globe. Climate change, wreaking havoc on our planet with the most vulnerable suffering most of all,” he said, oozing contempt for America, a country that long ago rejected the British monarchy.
“The few weaponizing lies and disinformation at the expense of the many and from the horrific war in Ukraine to the rolling back of Constitutional rights here in the United States,” he added of the return to decisions on abortion to the states where democracy will rule,” ranted the Duke of Sussex. “A global assault on democracy and freedom.”
