The stunning announcement that President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID despite being fully vaccinated and boosted after his own insistence that those who had received the jabs were not going to get the virus had his media defenders looking to avoid discussing that inconvenient fact by putting a political spin on his affliction, one of whom was Yamiche Alcindor who played the Trump card.
NBC News’ Washington correspondent sought to explain the big difference between Biden and former President Donald J. Trump who also came down with COVID, suggesting that the current White House occupant will be more respectful than his predecessor, especially when it comes to wearing a mask during a Thursday MSNBC appearance.
“Yeah, and, think about the fact that we now have two U.S. presidents in a row that have had tested positive for COVID. And I think what we’re gonna see here is likely a different sort of approach to it,” she said. “Let’s remember his predecessor took off his mask even though it was sort of in the period where he could’ve possibly infected other people. He didn’t want to talk about getting vaccinated at the White House.”
Of course, hours after the announcement of his COVID diagnosis, Biden tweeted a photo of himself maskless in the White House.

“President Biden, I suspect, just in talking to White House officials, is gonna remind people, yes, I could get it, which means you can get it, which means we all have to be vigilant about this,” Alcindor continued.
Of course no mention was made of the president’s own words last summer when he was still trying to persuade Americans to get jabbed prior to issuing his dictatorial employer vaccine mandate and he appeared on a CNN town hall to make his case, promising that “you’re ok, you’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,” a statement that has now been exposed as a complete lie, one of many for Biden.

“And also this diagnosis really does mean is he’s going to have to really quarantine himself and stay away from people, while he was under pressure to be out on the campaign trail, to be out in the world, to show that he was doing something,” she added, “to Democrats in particular who are saying there’s all these sort of fires out there, abortion politics, all these different things that are happening and voters in particular during the midterm season they need to see you out in the world, they need to make that they feel that you are connected to feeling their pain and now he’s not going to be able to do that.”
Alcindor added that Biden needs to get some rest, a sentiment not expressed by the leftist punditry when Trump was stricken by the virus in October 2020, a month before the election, leading to much gloating and shaming by the talking heads.

Prior to his diagnosis, Biden was in close contact with many including lawmakers from Massachusetts where he gave his big climate change speech, Sen. Ed Markey, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Rep. Bill Keating and Rep. Jake Auchincloss who all flew with him on Air Force One.

Biden also could have potentially infected Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other Kingdom dignitaries during his trip to beg for increased oil production last week.
One benefit for Democrats is that a COVID-stricken Biden can be quarantined in a controlled environment where his appearances can be more carefully managed, minimizing his ability to make embarrassing gaffes, such as when he said that he has cancer during his speech in Massachusetts, a silver lining with his ratings in freefall.
