Sesame Street theme park defends employee after angry mom screams racism, claims Rosita snubbed daughters

A Sesame Street theme park has been accused of racism in the latest in a growing line of examples of the “woke” left eating their own after an angry mom posted a social media video of her two children of color who were apparently ignored by one of the costumed characters.

Not even the beloved children’s television series which has promoted diversity since its debut in 1969 is safe from the vengeance of the thin-skinned mob to whom hurt feelings are treated as evidence of white supremacy, and the incident which went down at Sesame Place in Philadelphia over the weekend ignited a firestorm on social media.

In the short clip posted by the aggrieved parent on Instagram, her two girls are seen trying to get the attention of the employee dressed as the bilingual Muppet character Rosita but were ignored while she claimed that white children weren’t similarly shunned.

According to the user whose screen name is jodiiii, the alleged slight of her children was a clear-cut case of racism.

“I’m going to keep posting this, because this had me hot,” she wrote along with her video clip which has gone viral on social media. “We were on our way out of sesame place and the kids wanted to stop to see the characters. THIS DISGUSTING person blatantly told our kids NO then proceeded to hug the little white girl next to us!”

“Then I went to complain about it, they looking at me like I’m crazy.I asked the lady who the character was and I wanted to see a supervisor and she told me SHE DIDN’T KNOW !! I will never step foot in Sesame Place ever again ! Please feel free to repost this. Actually run me my money back so mad I stopped the video but it got me so mad when he blatantly told them no,” she ranted.

The video, however, didn’t show Rosita’s damning hug of the white girl but the absence of proof didn’t restrain the social media lynch mob which demanded the head of the Sesame Place worker underneath the furry blue costume on a pike.

Race-obsessed social media influencer Tariq Nasheed further stirred the pot, posting a video of the costumed employee walking by black children, demanding that the individual be fired or it will be known that Sesame Place “condones” what he referred to as “anti-black energy,” although it was more than likely completely innocent and lacking context of whether the worker also ignored white kids.

In a statement from Sesame Place posted to Instagram, the park denied that the incident was racially motivated.

“Our brand, our park and our employees stand for inclusivity and equality in all forms. That is what Sesame Place is all about and we do not tolerate any behaviors in our parks that are contrary to that commitment,” the statement reads.

“We also are, and have always been committed to making sure every family and every child has the best possible experience at our parks and we are incredibly disappointed when that does not happen,” Sesame Place said. “Regarding the incident yesterday, the costumes our performers wear sometimes make it difficult to see at lower levels and sometimes our performers miss hug requests from guests.”

“The performer portraying the Rosita character has confirmed that the ‘no’ hand gesture seen several times in the video was not directed at any specific person, rather it was a response to multiple requests from someone in the crowd who asked Rosita to hold their child for a photo which is not permitted,” according to the statement. “The Rosita performer did not intentionally ignore the girls and is devastated about the misunderstanding.”

The park said that they had apologized to the girls’ family and “invited them back for a special meet-and-greet opportunity with our characters,” although it isn’t likely to placate the racial arsonists on social media.
