A Norwegian feminist could face prison time over tweets in which she stated the obvious, that biological men couldn’t become women, which resulted in her being investigated for a hate crime, a chilling example of how laws in Europe have been abused to punish those who dare to speak out against transgenderism which has become the de facto religion of the ideological left.
Christina Ellingsen of the feminist group Women’s Declaration International ran afoul of the authorities over a Twitter exchange with Christine Marie Jentoft, a member of a transgender activist group Foreningen FRI who is a male identifying as a lesbian woman.
According to the feminist website Reduxx, Ellingsen tweeted, “Why [does] FRI teach young people that males can be lesbians? Isn’t that conversion therapy?”
In a second tweet that put her in violation of Norway’s fascistic hate crime laws that last year added “gender identity” as a category she wrote, “Jentoft, who is male and an advisor in FRI, presents himself as a lesbian – that’s how bonkers the organization which supposedly works to protect young lesbians’ interests is. How does it help young lesbians when males claim to be lesbian, too?”
On Friday, Ellingsen joined Fox News host Tucker Carlson on his popular primetime show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” where she discussed the possibility that she could be imprisoned for the high crime of pointing out what, until recently, has been an indisputable fact of nature.
Noting that Norway is “highly civilized” and the richest country in the world, Carlson said that “it’s hard to believe that this is real” as he turned the floor over to Ellingsen.
“You can’t defend women, because if you define what a woman is,” she said, “and all over the world, stating biological facts is considered by a lot of groups as being directly hateful, so yeah, this is what I’ve been doing, I’ve been stating the obvious facts that men cannot be women, men cannot be girls, or mothers, or lesbians and now, I’m facing the risk of three years in prison.”
Carlson asked, “Tell me how the country of Norway, again, a country to which we give every benefit of every doubt, full of good people, beautiful place, but are you celebrated as a hero by people who still believe in science and free speech, are people supporting you?”
“Well a lot of people are supporting me across the entire spectrum of political, religious, everything,” Ellingsen replied. “But, a lot of people are also considering me on a level with someone who’s calling for genocide, I’ve been compared to everything from a fascist to a Maoist to a supporter of Westboro Baptist Church which I don’t even know what it is,” she laughed, a reference to the notorious anti-homosexual Kansas church founded by the late Rev. Fred Phelps.
“But basically, the entire spectrum of everything that’s bad in the world, is being hurled my way, absolutely,” she said, “but also a lot of support.”
“I’m just guessing but I think you’re on the left, I don’t think you’re a right-winger, I think you’re from Norway, are you surprised by all of this?” Carlson asked.
“Unfortunately, I’m not surprised because this has been in the cards for a long time,” Ellingsen responded. “If you can’t talk about biological reality, it’s unavoidable, this is simply unavoidable but no, I align myself with radical feminism. I’ve been voting left all my life, now I’m much more critical to what they’re actually saying and it seems like basically, all parties in Norway are supporting this pseudoscience.”
Ellingsen’s situation is just one more chilling example of how the dark specters of the past have re-emerged and been adapted for a modern era as totalitarianism sweeps the European continent.
