‘You scared, guys?’ James Woods slams NYT for calling rising GOP star ‘far-right Latina’

The corporate-left, pro-Democrat tabloid known as The New York Times is apparently trying to disparage U.S. Rep. Mayra Flores (R-Tex.), but Hollywood icon James Woods is not having it.

Neither is the congresswoman herself.

In an article published on Wednesday, the so-called newspaper of record seemingly tried to brand Flores as a radical of some kind in the piece luridly headlined “The Rise of the Far-Right Extremist.

“You scared, guys? She ran on family, hard work, and patriotic values. Oh, right. Of course you’re scared,” the conservative actor told the Times via social media.

On June 14, Flores made history by winning a special House election in a deep blue Rio Grande Valley area district that Democrats controlled for 100-plus years. The redrawn district will include different boundaries come the November general election, so it remains to be seen how Flores will do in that scenario.

The Times also seems worried about the potential success of two other like-minded Latina House hopefuls in the Trump-prompted realigning South Texas vicinity, namely Monica De La Cruz and Cassy Garcia.

“All three — G.O.P. officials have taken to calling them a ‘triple threat’ — share right-wing views on immigration, the 2020 election and abortion, among other issues,” the news outlet asserted. “Other pro-Trump Latinas are running for House seats in Virginia, Florida and New Mexico, among other places.”

Lamenting Flores’ victory, the news outlet claimed, among other things, that “what is most striking is that Ms. Flores won by shunning moderates, embracing the far right and wearing her support for Donald J. Trump on her sleeve — more Marjorie Taylor Greene than Kay Bailey Hutchison. Her campaign slogan —’God, family, country’ — was meant to appeal to what she calls the ‘traditional values’ of her majority-Hispanic district in the border city of Brownsville. She called for President Biden’s impeachment. She tweeted QAnon hashtags. And she called the Democratic Party the ‘greatest threat America faces.'”

The subtext might also be that the media doesn’t like outspoken America First candidates from all backgrounds who respond in kind, unlike a previous generation of passive Republican office-holders or candidates who functioned like jobbers ( i.e., designated losers) as they are known in the orchestrated professional wrestling world.

The Times journalist also seemed triggered that, after pestering her four times about whether Joe Biden was legitimately elected POTUS, Flores would only say that he is “the worst president in history.”

In May, reporting on the results of a Quinnipiac Poll, Fox News noted that the incumbent POTUS, whose approval rating continues to crater, “is less popular among Hispanics than any other demographic.”

In a statement, Flores herself critiqued via text message the Times story in no uncertain terms, Fox News separately reported:

I am proud of my culture and my beautiful family. I was born in Burgos, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and raised with strong Conservative values to always put God and Family first. I have received only hate from the liberal media and constantly [been] told by the left to go back to Mexico. They don’t support us immigrants, they only use us for political power and don’t care about our well-being. I am here now and I won’t allow them to continue taking advantage of my people. The NYT knows nothing about me or our culture. Somos gente de Dios, Familia y Travajo [We are people of God, Family and Work], Si Señor!

Flores also responded on Twitter:

As a side note, what seems to be escaping the Times or even Fox News is that Twitter users often include hashtags, random or otherwise, about trending topics with which they disagree as a way to participate in the discussion.

In the article, for example, Flores told the Times that she wanted to reach more people with “her intention …to express opposition to QAnon.”

Christina Pushaw, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ press secretary, one of Flores’ many fans, also chimed in, among others:
