President Joe Biden’s stubbornness in refusing to reverse course on his disastrous domestic energy policies that have reduced him to begging Saudi Arabia for more oil has drawn criticism from industry leaders who are speaking out as gas prices remain at near-record levels.
Instead of easing his war on the domestic fossil fuel industry which he declared on day one of his presidency, Biden will travel to the Middle East to kneel before Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as he tries to make amends for his campaign vow to make the Kingdom into a “pariah” state, a trip that comes at a time when it has been reported that oil that has been released from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve to ease the pain at the pump has instead been shipped overseas, including to communist China.
US Oil & Gas Association president Tim Stewart dropped by Fox News for Wednesday’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” where he discussed Biden’s pilgrimage as well as the shocking betrayal of the American people by Biden with host Tucker Carlson.
Carlson began, “So you know, to someone who’s not in the business as you are, selling off an asset like this and allowing it to be sold to China seems like criminal, honestly.”
“You know, Tucker, you articulate it better than just about anybody,” Stewart responded. “The question I think to answer that question we have to ask ourselves, how did we get here in the first place? How did we replace one bad policy with another bad policy? How did we go from being the world’s energy superpower, being number one in oil and gas and coal and geothermal and second in wind and solar to shaking the tin cup to the Saudis and not even being able to track where our strategic petroleum reserve releases end up?”
“It’s really quite, it’s quite disconcerting, isn’t it?” Stewart continued. “I would say it’s really important to know that the exploration production companies were not supportive of the strategic petroleum reserve release. Why didn’t we just, why weren’t we allowed just open up the spigot of what we’re already doing versus shutting that off and tapping into the nation’s credit card?”
“It really is, it’s quite frustrating,” he said.
Carlson responded, “I got to be honest, I’ve talked to most of the people who run the oil and gas companies and they all act like they’re selling cigarettes to kids, they’re always a little bit embarrassed, ‘oh it’s oil and gas, but we’re really about green energy.’ why they don’t they step up in public and say without us, this is an impoverished country, this is Central Africa, you need us in order to stay solvent, and like make some noise and fight back?”
Stewart replied, “Well, and we’re trying to, you know, that tweet that the president sent out on Saturday was we had a response where you know how it is, you know Twitter is sort of an exercise in futility, there are thousands and thousands of people who think that they’re experts on oil and gas because they retweet something that some celebrity does and so we’ve avoided it,” referring to the association’s smackdown of a tweet from Biden’s account attacking gas station operators.
Working on it Mr. President. In the meantime – have a Happy 4th and please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester… https://t.co/6yLpbDDRKc

“But we saw that tweet come across and it just sort of struck a nerve so we did our best to kind of call the B.S. on the White House and say look, somebody’s got to go back and look at the economics here,’ he said.
Carlson added, “Yeah! I mean It is over if we get rid of fossil fuels, that’s just true and I wish we could stop whining about it.”
