Frustrated Dems vent about Biden as midterm bloodbath looms, ‘it’s almost like he’s hiding’

Panic and a sense of desperation are oozing out of the Democrat camp as any hope that President Joe Biden will be the man on the white horse who saves their bacon in the midterms begins to evaporate with the nation beset by one crisis after another while the administration expresses its indifference to the suffering of real people.

One Democrat lawmaker vented to NBC News in a report that was published on Monday, expressing frustration that the nation’s 46th president isn’t doing enough to inspire voters to turn out in what will be the first national referendum on Biden’s presidency.

“He has to change course,” an anonymous congressman told NBC News, fearing reprisals if he was identified. “His numbers are in the toilet. Whatever he’s doing is not working.”

“There’s a benefit to having the president out there every day using his executive power to show the country you’re fighting for them,” the congressman said. “And it’s almost like he’s hiding. He has the bully pulpit, and he’s either hiding behind it or under it. I don’t know where he is.”

The congressman’s frank admission to the outlet that a course correction is needed because Biden’s approval rating is “in the toilet” is a huge understatement according to recent polls, one of which shows that an astounding 85 percent of respondents believe that the country is on the wrong track.

Record gas prices and the worst inflation in over four decades couldn’t come at a worse time for Democrats who stand to be stripped of their iron grip on Congress by an angry electorate who have seen the dramatic increase in costs erode their household budgets now that the chickens have come home to roost as a result of Biden’s destructive domestic energy policies.

The administration isn’t exactly sending a message that it is concerned with the problems faced by real people outside of the elite D.C. bubble, something that a top Biden economic aide made clear when he said that Americans will just have to suck it up.

According to National Economic Council Chairman Brian Deese, the economic woes that are breaking the backs of families struggling to put food on the table is necessary for the good of what he called the “liberal world order,” not exactly what restive voters would expect to hear.

In yet another bad sign for Biden, American confidence in the presidency as an institution is has fallen along with his approval ratings.

A just-released Gallup poll underscores the country’s ugly mood with faith in major institutions falling across the board since last year although none as much as the presidency which fell from 38 percent in 2021 to a measly 23 percent this year as it is no longer possible for Americans to ignore the Biden disaster that has absolutely decimated a once-prosperous and optimistic country.

On the bright side for Biden, despite his dismal record, there is still far more confidence in the presidency than there is in Congress which dropped to a horrific 7 percent, down 5 percent from last year’s putrid 12 percent.

“There needs to be urgency and action,” Rebecca Kirszner Katz, a former aide to Democrat Senator Harry Reid told NBC News. “Folks have been saying since the day Joe Biden was elected that we need to move fast. There are a lot of things we need to get done for the American people.”
