SE Cupp has a message for Ana Navarro over horrific remark about special needs people and abortion

It was probably only a matter of time until Ana Navarro said something so completely stupid and outrageous that even her ideological allies would be unable to defend her and that’s exactly what the co-host of “The View” did when she suggested that family members with special needs should have been aborted.

On Friday, Navarro reacted to the Supreme Court’s historic overturn of Roe v. Wade when during an appearance on CNN, she made her horrifying remarks that quickly drew criticism including some tough love from CNN commentator S.E. Cupp.

“I am not anybody to tell you what you need to do with your life or with your uterus,” Navarro said on CNN. “And because I have a family with a lot of special needs kids — I have a brother who’s 57 and has the mental and motor skills of a one-year-old and I know what that means financially, emotionally, physically for a family and I know not all families can do it.”

Cupp took to Twitter on Saturday to respond to her colleague’s twisted rant that some have likened to support for eugenics, sharing private details about her own family members who have special needs.

“It’s taken me a minute to decide whether I wanted to share this. But ultimately, iI felt like I had to,” Cupp wrote. “Yesterday, @ananavarro you made an argument that one of the reasons you were pro-choice was because you knew children with special needs, in your family. So do I.”

“You said you have a step-grand daughter with Down’s syndrome, and a “step-grandson who is very autistic. And that “there are mothers and people who are in that society or in that community will tell you they’ve considered suicide because that’s how difficult it is to get help,” she added.

“I have an autistic child. I have never met a parent of an autistic child or any parent of a special needs child who said they’d wished they’d aborted him or her,” Cupp admonished the combustible Navarro.

“These children face enough stigmas and challenges. Please don’t use our incredible, special, wonderful, super-hero kids to make political arguments, especially about the benefits of abortion,” she wrote, pleading with Navarro to not use special needs children as human shields for her fiery leftist politics.

She added, “I have been clear. I don’t want Roe overturned. But don’t even for a second make it about our special needs kids. NOT EVEN ONE SECOND.”

“Make the argument that you don’t want to have a kid. Don’t make the argument that you don’t want to have a KIND of kid that we HAVE AND LOVE,” Cupp concluded.

Also on Saturday, a defensive Navarro responded to the firestorm of criticism over her hideous remarks by accusing people of distorting her words although they are widely available in their proper context on the internet and social media.

“Some have twisted my words. Won’t stop me calling it out,” she said. “Banning women’s choices, but NOT funding enough aid for kids & adults w/special needs & disabilities, or a safety-net for single moms & poor families, or safe, loving foster care & adoption, isn’t Pro-life. It’s hypocrisy.”

Navarro has yet to directly reply to Cupp’s heartfelt outreach to her.
