Trump-backed Kari Lake to sue her accuser AND media ‘animals’ who ran with drag queen story

Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is punching back against a smear campaign featuring a Phoenix-area transgender stripper who claimed that she hosted a drag queen party in her home in the presence of her young daughter, an allegation that she has emphatically denied and now she is preparing to sue her accuser.

Lake, who was endorsed by former President Donald J. Trump and who has been an outspoken critic of groomers and drag queens was the subject of an Arizona Republic hit piece in which Rick Stevens, a male performer whose career of dressing up like a woman under the name of  Barbra Seville at bars, theatres and private parties lashed out, accused her of hypocrisy.

Stevens, who was described by the outlet as “one of the Valley’s best known drag artists,” provided pictures of  Lake standing next to a drag queen as well as from a costume party where the candidate who is dressed up like Elvis Presley posed with another individual wearing a skeleton mask that Stevens claimed was him.

“She’s friends with drag queens,” Stevens told the Arizona Republic. “She’s had her kid in front of a drag queen. I’ve done drag in her home for her friends and family. She’s not threatened by them. She would come to shows constantly. To make me be the bogeyman for political gain it was just too much.”

Fighting words for sure and Lake took to Instagram to return fire on Sunday, posting a statement slamming Stevens and announcing that she is not only going to sue Stevens for defamation but also media outlets that have amplified his allegations.

“Richard Stevens is a talented comedian and performer that Kari Lake covered during her TV career,” the statement reads. “Once a friend, Steven’s (also known by his stage name Barbra Seville), has now resorted to public attacks on Lake for her political views. It’s worth noting that Stevens has become radicalized in recent years and has called for the death of a sitting GOP Congresswoman and has actively campaigned for Katie Hobbs.”

“Like most sane people, Kari Lake is very much opposed to grown men or women dancing provocatively for children, especially at the expense of the taxpayer. Why would anyone be opposed to this? This shouldn’t be controversial, but from some very nefarious reasons, the Media and Leftist Activists are choosing this hill to die on,” according to Lake’s post.

“Like clockwork, the Fake Media will latch on any story, regardless of its validity. Kari Lake is serving Mr. Stevens a defamatory lawsuit and is more than happy to do the same to Media outlets that promote these lies as truth,” the statement added. “These animals are salivating over a fake story, pulling out every stop to hurt our America-First Movement in Arizona.”

The attempted kneecapping of Lake has all the hallmarks of a standard Democrat slime job, being immediately boosted by rabidly partisan social media influencers on Twitter as well as Arizonan and former co-host of “The View” Meghan McCain – whose deceased father, Republican Senator John McCain carried his hatred of Trump to his grave – who spread the word to her 796.3K followers.

Recent polling shows that Lake, who is a former Phoenix television news anchor, has opened up a double-digit lead in the state’s Republican gubernatorial primary, the winner of which will square off against whichever left-wing zealot wins the Democrat primary to replace outgoing Governor Doug Ducey who was ripped as a “weak RINO” by Trump.

The candidate initially responded to the Stevens and the Arizona Republic after the smear was launched.

“Richard’s accusations were full of lies,” Lake said in a statement to reporter Laurie Roberts who penned the article. “The event in question was a party at someone else’s house, and the performer was there as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. It wasn’t a drag show, and the issue we’re talking about isn’t adults attending drag shows, either. The issue is activists sexualizing young children, and that’s got to stop.”

Roberts’ hit piece was so saturated with her biased leftist viewpoints and vitriol that the outlet has now clearly marked it as an opinion since then and added a toned-down version written by another reporter that is being linked to by liberal media outlets promoting the allegations.

“We encourage these outlets to remember what happened in the Nick Sandmann case and think twice about defaming Kari Lake,” the statement read, strongly suggesting that the only way to deal with the fake news peddlers in the corrupt media is to sue them.
