President Joe Biden has reacted to the leak of an opinion draft of the Supreme Court of the United States, which, if true, would effectively overturn Roe v Wade which has protected abortions in the United States since 1973.
Biden’s White House released a statement in which the president vowed to continue to protect abortion access in the United States, and used the leak to urge voters to elect pro-choice candidates. In the event that Roe is ultimately overturned, he called to codify abortion protections into law, and for that, they will need a pro-choice majority.

We do not know whether this draft is genuine, or whether it reflects the final decision of the Court.
With that critical caveat, I want to be clear on three points about the cases before the Supreme Court.
First, my administration argued strongly before the Court in defense of Roe v. Wade. We said that Roe is based on “a long line of precedent recognizing ‘the Fourteenth Amendment’s concept of personal liberty’… against government interference with intensely personal decisions.” I believe that a woman’s right to choose is fundamental, Roe has been the law of the land for almost fifty years, and basic fairness and the stability of our law demand that it not be overturned.
Second, shortly after the enactment of Texas law SB 8 and other laws restricting women’s reproductive rights, I directed my Gender Policy Council and White House Counsel’s Office to prepare options for an Administration response to the continued attack on abortion and reproductive rights, under a variety of possible outcomes in the cases pending before the Supreme Court. We will be ready when any ruling is issued.
Third, if the Court does overturn Roe, it will fall on our nation’s elected officials at all levels of government to protect a woman’s right to choose. And it will fall on voters to elect pro-choice officials this November. At the federal level, we will need more pro-choice Senators and a pro-choice majority in the House to adopt legislation that codifies Roe, which I will work to pass and sign into law.
Democrats quickly seized on the opportunity presented by this leak to rally their base ahead of the midterms.

First, depending on the reason, if the Supreme Court says that abortion is against the constitution, you can sign as many bills as you want, and I expect they will be shot down also. Biden should just keep his opinions to himself. There are many of us who don’t agree and have never agreed with the massive numbers of abortions being performed in this country. If people actually think that millions of aborted fetuses were “necessary” then they truly have something wrong with them. There should never ever be a leak coming out of our SC..ever. And seeing as how this is simply a draft opinion, maybe people need to focus on what is actually taking place right now that is actually a crisis.
This is another distraction. People are freaking out over something that hasn’t even happened yet. The hysteria is ridiculous.
The leaked draft was written in February by one Justice. Any judicial debate about ROE was in process then, and the process will continue until the final opinion is rendered.
In the event that ROE is overturned it doesn’t mean that abortion is illegal. All it means is that it is not a Federal or Constitutional issue. Under the constitution any outside of federal jurisdiction falls to the states.
Each state can enact their own laws regarding abortion. Whether to outright ban ALL abortions, to restrict abortions after the first trimester, to allow abortions at any stage of fetal development up until birth.
Colorado has already had legislation that states any embryo, fetus, unborn child, is not a separate person and has no protection under the law, up to, and including murdering that child.
The Left has become accustomed to politicians, entertainers, companies, etc… capitulating to their demands out of fear.
Whoever leaked this should be prosecuted criminally. The person, or persons who leaked this draft placed our Supreme Court Justices lives in extreme danger from radical activists. More danger than they already face on a daily basis.
Was this leaked by an inside leftist, hoping that the draft would cause havoc and the justices would change their opinions because of the pressure?
Was this leaked by an insider to distract the country from the issues that are hurting the American people? Inflation, the Economy, fuel prices, food prices.
Was this leaked to prepare the country for ROE being overturned?
Was the insider who leaked paid to do this to get Democrats campaign war chests filled before the mid term elections?
There are many questions that will need to be answered.
Until a final opinion is issued and published by the Supreme Court on the issue of whether abortion is constitutionally protected, finding the leak is the only thing that needs to occur. It shouldn’t be difficult to find that person as there are very limited people with access to those documents.
The Supreme Court is not tasked with Red or Blue, Democrat or Republican, Left or Right. Their sole task is to determine if the case in front of them is constitutionally protected or not.
Seems to me that one of the lefties on the SC (Breyer?) arranged the leak so that, in coordination with the dems, the purported cancelling of Roe would provide ammo for the MSM to rile up the dem base, as well as distract everyone from the Xiden “destroy America” agenda. There are no limits to dem perfidy!
The Most Important matter Right Now is “How do we make sure we can continue Murdering Defenseless Babies.”
