Can America survive Joe Biden’s incompetence?

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

The satirical website Onion reported that the US Senate is considering a bill sponsored by the Democratic Party called “The Americans with No Abilities Act.” It is regarded as a major legislative goal, says the Onion, by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills and ambition. When I heard about this, it occurred to me that the role model for the movement is the person who allegedly runs our government, President Joe Biden.

The Biden presidency offers an outstanding example of the Peter Principle, described by Canadian sociologist Laurence J. Peter in 1968. Dr. Peter argued that in a hierarchy, employees are generally promoted to their level of incompetence. Not only has Biden satisfied the definition of the Peter Principle, his incompetence has risen to the point where it is questionable whether the country will survive the balance of his term.

Regardless of the issue at hand, Joe Biden can be counted on to make the wrong decision. Biden’s unsound policies are having a disastrous effect on America in the following areas: energy; the southern border; the Iran deal; inflation; the Afghan withdrawal and its consequences; climate change; law and order. Each of these issues was under control during the Trump presidency. It is therefore ironic that Biden’s primary motivation has been to do the opposite of whatever Trump did. A new definition of stupid.

Biden, who appears to lack a mind of his own, has succumbed to the influence of the progressive Left. Their agenda does not reflect the views of the majority of Americans, but the cadre of elitists that espouses its damaging ideology is having a disproportionate influence on national policy. A major element of that policy, based on a monumental hoax driven by the UN, is the belief that we have the ability to stem the tide of alleged man-made global warming. So instead of going ahead with the Keystone Pipeline, which would have maintained the energy independence achieved under Trump, Biden vetoed it. Now Biden is on his hands and knees before the Saudis and Venezuela.

Will any of that cure global warming, assuming it exists? Not one iota. All it does is guarantee that the price of gas will go through the roof. Thanks a lot, Joe.

Instead of following Trump’s successful border policy, Biden has exposed the nation to the influx of millions of unvetted aliens who are dependent on massive US welfare payments, along with the dangerous incursions of the Mexican drug cartels. To pay for Biden’s expensive giveaways, the feds have printed trillions of crisp new dollars, opening the floodgates to inflation of a magnitude we have not seen in generations.

Biden’s colossal failure in Afghanistan has demonstrated to our adversaries that the US has no backbone. The conflict in Ukraine can be attributed to Putin’s lack of fear that the US will try to stop him. With Trump in the White House, Putin’s forces would not be laying waste to Ukraine.

On top of this is Biden’s obvious conflict of interest, a scandal that the media have hidden from the American public. The Hunter Biden laptop that ties Joe Biden to the attempted sale of his office in Russia, Ukraine, and China is now acknowledged as legitimate. According to a poll by the Convention of States Action (COSA) in mid-March, 56% of likely general election voters believe Biden has a conflict of interest in Ukraine. Bill O’Reilly believes this could lead to Biden’s impeachment.

The big question is: Can America survive Joe’s presidency? A lot depends on whether we can get through the Ukraine crisis without ending up in World War III. The 2022 elections will determine if Biden can be stopped. Even if the Republicans win back both houses of Congress, we still have three more years of Joe. I’m going to be an optimist and say that unless he gets us into a hot war, Joe’s mistakes can be reversed by a strong Republican president.

Trump was successful in turning around Obama’s eight-year assault on American values. The Donald can do it again if we elect him—or someone like him—in 2024.
