Job security and personal security allegedly don’t mix in the Kremlin under Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.
In an article about the potential assassination via poison of Putin as one way to end the horrific Ukraine invasion, the Daily Beast provided this purported insider information: “Yet poisoning Putin wouldn’t be an easy task. According to a source who works in the upper echelons of a Russian ministry, Putin in February allegedly sacked some 1,000 people—from cooks to launderers to secretaries to bodyguards—who catered to his daily personal and professional needs, and replaced them with a new group of attendants.”
The liberal news outlet also claimed that, according to an unnamed “elimination specialist” who retired from a French spy agency, neutralizing Putin via an assassination” is on every intelligence agency’s design table,” and that an inside-job poisoning is “the most efficient method.”
Separately, Ukrainian military intelligence is claiming that a group of Russian elites is plotting to overthrow Putin and “restore economic ties” with the West, perhaps using his own signature methods of poisoning or an accident to accomplish the task.

Putin, who perhaps expected an easy win — rather than fierce resistance — in Ukraine, has controlled Russia with an iron hand since 1999, including a stint as prime minister.
News consumers should note that there is a lot of spin, if not outright propaganda, coming from both warring sides in the conflict.
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has already called for an attempt on Putin’s life. “The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out,” Graham provocatively declared earlier this month on Twitter.
Putin, 69, reportedly has deployed unlimited resources when it comes to creating a security buffer between him and anyone who seeks to do him harm, which includes food tasters and elite, hand-picked muscle who have a mandatory retirement of 35.

But Putin, a former KGB agent…is apparently obsessed with both his security and his health – protecting himself from assassins and avoiding COVID-19 at all costs, as demonstrated by the lengths to which he’s gone to avoid catching the virus.
The Post acknowledged that the source of much of this security-related info is Russian state-controlled media.
Putin is neurotic about catching covid, hence the desk.
This isn't just a mark of a demagogue's eccentricity.
It's characteristic of someone who can't judge risk.

In addition to extensive physical and electronic security at home in Moscow and when he travels, “Putin also has someone sample every meal he’s served to ensure he’s not being poisoned, according to the founder of the ‘Club des Chefs des Chefs,’ a culinary organization whose members cook for heads of state and monarchs around the world,” the Post added.
“Poison as a killing tool is not unheard of in Russia. Alexei Navalny, the prominent Kremlin critic, was poisoned with the Soviet-era nerve agent Novichok in Siberia in August 2020, and Putin has been widely accused of ordering the attack,” Business Insider recalled.
