University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, a biological male who is allowed to compete in the women’s division, has just secured another NCAA swimming title, this time in the women’s freestyle 500-yard championship race held in Atlanta on Thursday.
The UPenn athlete is also on deck to swim in the 200-yard and 100-yard freestyle heats scheduled for this weekend.
“This is a male displacing women,” Annabelle Rutledge, Concerned Women for America director, told Fox News. “The female who came in second today is the real winner.”
“Only women can win a women’s swimming and diving championship,” she continued.
Thomas, 22, won the title at the NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships held at the Georgia Tech athletic center and became the first transgender athlete to win an NCAA title in Division I sports.

The swimmer bested Virginia Cavaliers freshman Emma Weyant by more than one second and Texas Longhorns freshman Erica Sullivan by at least two. To put that feat in perspective, Brooke Forde, who raced for the Stanford Cardinal, had previously won a silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo last year and placed fourth.
“There’s a man, called Will Thomas, who’s changed his name to Lia Thomas, who is competing in women’s swimming,” Kellie-Jay Keen, head of the organization Standing for Women, said in an interview with Fox News.
“Women aren’t considered full humans,” she continued. “We can’t be – otherwise there wouldn’t be an opportunity for men to compete in women’s sports.”
World-renowned Olympic decathlon winner and gold medalist at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Bruce Jenner, is now world-famous television star and transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner, 72, and the former athlete had some very choice words regarding Thomas’ win and the travesty of men invading women’s sports.
According to Pink News, Jenner said, “I don’t think biological boys should compete in women’s sports – we have to protect women’s sports… that’s the bottom line.”
“I don’t see how you can be happy beating other girls under these circumstances. You have to have a sense of personal responsibility. You can still enjoy sports but not play at a competitive level, right?” Jenner asked. In their story, Pink News called that logic “another disgraceful attack on trans athletes.”

Jenner’s comeback was a work of perfection and garnered high praise on Twitter.

Thomas has previously been accused of underperforming in order to keep from winning by such unnatural margins over fellow swimmers.
After a 500-yard freestyle race in February, the Daily Mail reported, “Thomas’ latest win came after a sports expert claimed she deliberately underperformed during a recent race she won to make her advantage look less obvious. By comparing lap times for the medalists…500-yard free[style] on Thursday, CBS sports analyst Ross Tucker posited that the trans UPenn swimmer ‘produced a controlled effort below max for the race,’ suggesting that she underperformed to minimize the appearance of an advantage over competitors.”
“Thomas, who swam for the…men’s team as recently as 2019 when she began medically transitioning to a woman, recorded the fastest time of all swimmers in the women’s 500-yard freestyle finals by a full seven seconds, as she won by half a pool length and broke a 15-year a pool record with a time of 4:37.32,” the outlet said.
Others weighed in on Thomas’s latest title, including the editor at Swimming World magazine.

Do not underestimate the amount of justified contempt this creates for the trans movement.
