Aides BLOCK Fox camera with a folder as Energy Secretary doggedly dodges questions

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm either could not or would not answer questions about the gas crisis afflicting Americans on Wednesday when she was approached by a Fox News reporter.

Video shows Granholm’s aides desperate to remove her from the situation, and at one point an aide even covered the camera lens.

Fox News Senior Political Editor Andrew Murray asked, “Is there any talk about bringing Iran back to the table because of gas prices?” as Granholm was leaving following a speech at CERAWeek by S&P Global. At first, she reacted with surprise, but then remained tight-lipped and refused to answer any questions, despite the severity of the situation.

It was then that her press secretary, Charisma Troiano, instructed the reporters to ask her their questions, instead of the energy secretary, despite it being her job to keep up to date on these kinds of issues.

However, both of them then refused to answer any questions and the group quickly hurried further down the hall. Troiano said that she should be answering their questions later.

Another aide then blocked the camera with a folder after the group identified themselves as Fox News Digital reporters. Granholm’s office hadn’t responded to Fox News’ request for comment about the incident at the time of publishing.

Apparently, Granholm isn’t the only one who can’t be bothered to discuss the issue of skyrocketing gas prices.

As American Wire News previously reported, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York, ignored questions about the crisis as well, though it’s not clear if her conversation with her dinner partner was loud enough that it caused the reporter’s question to go unheard.

“Congresswoman, what do you have to say to the people paying the price at the gas pump?” she was asked as she continued walking. “Congresswoman, you have nothing to say?”

However, as the reporter followed her, she continued to walk away and ignore.
