Former President Donald J. Trump had strong words for the man who served as his attorney general but who, like other members of his administration, is cashing in off his “insider” knowledge with a tell-all book that has the media swooning.
In a statement released by his Save American PAC, Trump slammed former Attorney General William Barr, a man whom he has clashed with and whom he continues to suggest did nothing despite Barr’s acknowledgment that he was spied on by his political enemies, acts that would be a massive scandal in a country with a functioning media.
Trump appears to have been driven to put out the statement after Barr appeared on Fox News and in an interview with anchor Bret Baier during a discussion about the progress of the probe being conducted by “bulldog” John Durham. Barr said that the “president’s campaign was spied on” when pressed on whether there would be forthcoming indictments from the special prosecutor.
According to Trump, “Bill Barr said, and just reiterated that the Trump campaign was ‘spied on’, but did nothing about it. He then said, ‘mail-in-ballots are prone to fraud,’ and then did nothing to catch the fraudsters.”
“He was so afraid of being impeached, that he went to the other side—and they left him alone,” Trump said.

“Barr was a ‘Bushie’ who never had the energy or competence to do the job that he was put in place to do,” Trump added, referring to Barr’s first term at the helm of the Justice Department from 1991 to 1993 during the administration of George H.W. Bush.
Barr has been hitting the media circuit to hawk his new book “One Damn Thing After Another: Memoirs of an Attorney General,” which just came out and will provide much fodder for talking heads who just can’t kick their addiction to tawdry gossip about Trump.
The book is already ranked number one on Amazon.com in the Biographies of Political Leaders category.
Barr dumped on his former boss during an interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie on Monday morning, responding to the host’s goading of him with a letter from Trump to the network’s Lester Holt in which he made unflattering remarks about Barr who said “The president is a man who, when he is told something he doesn’t want to hear, he immediately throws a tantrum and attacks a person personally.”

In the letter to Holt, Trump wrote of Barr, “He crumbled under the pressure, and bowed to the Radical Left-And that is not acceptable. Now he is groveling for the media, hoping to gain acceptance that he doesn’t deserve.”
During the interview on the “Today” show, Barr said that if Trump ends up being the GOP nominee in 2024, he will vote for him because the alternative would be far worse – although he would prefer that one of the other candidates got the nod even though it would likely suck the energy out of Trump’s enthusiastic base and possibly keep the White House in Democrat hands under Joe Biden, or maybe Hillary Clinton who continues to make noises that she’s running.

After being savaged by the left which wailed for his head on a pike for years, Barr is just the latest Republican to be hailed as a hero by his former antagonists, many of whom will be shelling out their money for a copy of his book.
