Outrage erupted after Republican Senator Ted Cruz compared White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to the cartoon character Peppermint Patty, giving easily-triggered leftists fits over such disrespect towards a woman who has developed a cult-like following among cultural elitists.
Cruz’s grave offense came during his speech at the CPAC conference in Orlando, Florida on Thursday when he talked about the chilling censorship that the Biden regime has urged its tech-partners to exercise against dissenting voices, notably podcaster Joe Rogan.
“Why is our liberty so under assault? Because giant corporations, giant tech, giant government, they work together hand in hand,” according to Cruz in a video clip posted to Twitter by Justin Baragona of the Daily Beast.
“You look at what happened with Joe Rogan, Joe Rogan, Jen Psaki. Oh come on, Jen Psaki doesn’t get the Justin Trudeau treatment?” he asked, as the audience booed the authoritarian snark queen.
“All right, you know, Peppermint Patty deserves some love,” he said, briefly pausing for effect. “Jen Psaki from the White House said uh, billionaires, oh billionaires in Silicon Valley, please silence that pesky Rogan guy.”
Cruz added, “There’s a pattern of government asking big tech to silence dissent…”

It was “Peppermint Patty” who has used the forum of her daily press briefings to repeatedly attack Rogan, a man who has rocketed to the top of the left’s hate list for both his popularity as well as his willingness to go against the official narrative.
Psaki addressed the comparison to the beloved Peanuts character when asked about it by a reporter in a light-hearted moment during Thursday’s gaslighting session.

“Don’t tell him I like Peppermint Patty,” Psaki said, “so I’m not going to take it too offensively.”
She added, “Senator Cruz, I like Peppermint Patty, I’m a little tougher than that, but there you go.”
While the target of Cruz’s barb was able to shrug it off, others took to Twitter to defend Psaki’s honor with much of their postings being chock full of the typical vulgarity.

The former GOP presidential candidate also delivered fiery remarks directed at the “woke mob” that serves as rabid enforcers for the political left’s ideology as well as attack dogs that serve the interests of the Democratic Party.
“Don’t ever apologize to the woke mob,” Cruz said. “It doesn’t work. They are not engaged in rational discourse. They are not actually offended by whatever idiocy they’re whining about about that moment.”
“They want to destroy you. They want to silence you. They want to subjugate you. Respond with joy. Laugh at them. It drives them bananas.” he added.
Cruz has a point about laughing at the self-important leftist zealots who are in power because if there is one thing that they absolutely cannot stand it is ridicule. As was evident by the hysterical overreaction to “Let’s Go Brandon,” nothing quite punctures their thin skins like the barbs of mockery.
