Authorities say that conservative Christian activist Zoe Sozo Bethel, Miss Alabama 2021, tragically died in Florida from blunt force trauma from an accident after being in a coma for about a week.
Miami cops had originally responded to what they described as a possible suicide attempt at the La Piazza Navona condominium building in the Edgewater neighborhood at approximately midnight on February 11.
The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner reportedly made the blunt force trauma determination as to the cause of death, according to Fox News and other news outlets. What happened was a “tragic accident, and no foul play is suspected,” authorities also clarified.
Bethel’s family had maintained from the start that it was an accident.
“Zoe’s loved ones insisted that the ‘devout believer in Jesus’ and ‘proud conservative’ would never have taken her own life,” the Daily Mail noted.
“Investigators say the victim ‘fell out of a third-floor window’ and was transported by Miami Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition,” the Miami Herald reported.
In a February 16 message on Zoe Sozo Bethel’s Instagram page, her family had written that “Zoe had an accident Thursday night, February 10th, & sustained severe damage to her brain/brainstem & is in a coma. Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired & that she may not have much time left…”
In a follow-up message, her loved ones provided a tragic update about the mother of one who was 27:
“On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM Eastern time in Miami, Florida, our beloved Zoe Sozo Bethel passed from this life into the next as a result of succumbing to her injuries. Zoe touched the hearts of many people and was actively affiliated with several organizations…”
The family included a list of her many affiliations which included her work as “a political commentator for RSBN, a Brand Ambassador for Turning Point USA, and Liberty University’s Falkirk Center. She was also a spokeswoman for Students for Life and affiliated with Project Veritas.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover her medical and funeral expenses.
“Even though she was glamorous in her modeling and as a pageant queen, She was not afraid to get her hands dirty for a good cause,” the family separately recalled.
In a statement, Mrs. Alabama America and Miss Alabama for American Pageants honored Zoe Sozo Bethel, 27:
“On February 18th, 2022, the world lost a queen. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend and reigning Miss Alabama for America Strong, Zoe Bethel. She was a light in this world and we are heartbroken over the loss of such a bright and beautiful woman.”
Back in 2018, as a harbinger of the cancel culture perhaps, a modeling agency released Bethel from her contract after she attended the Young Black Leadership Summit at the Trump White House.
