Geraldo Rivera seemed to be doing his best Juan Williams impression on Wednesday evening’s edition of “The Five” as the Fox News panel discussed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s anti-Freedom Convoy power grab by invoking emergency powers.
Colleague Greg Gutfeld wasn’t having it, however.
Sounding a lot like polls-centric Williams, Rivera even condemned the so-called right-wing media for inciting the “unpopular” ongoing grassroots, anti-mandate peaceful protest by the transportation workers, many of whom are vaccinated against COVID-19.
Debates often got tense when co-host Greg Gutfeld regularly sparred with Williams, Rivera’s predecessor in the show’s liberal chair.
Things similarly became testy between Gutfeld and Geraldo as they discussed the action by the official whom Greg referred to as the Prime Miniature and a virtue-signaling “ghoulish hypocrite.”
Trudeau “always used to act like he supported human rights…and then he cracks down on a protest movement that is just asking for freedom…it’s time for him to resign,” Gutfeld asserted.

This particular Gutfeld-Rivera heated exchange was prompted when co-host Jeanine Pirro suggested that the invocation of the Emergencies Act by the leader of the Liberal Party is not popular in Canada.
“You know what is not that popular in Canada,” Rivera asked.
“This freedom convoy,” he continued, answering his own question. “What about the freedom of the homeowners to live in peace? What about the freedom of the shopkeepers to do business? What about the freedom of the autoworkers to get parts?”
When Pirro implied that Rivera was a Johnny-come-lately in terms of criticizing the 2020 civil unrest in Seattle, for example, he insisted that he condemned that too.
Gutfeld then asked Rivera, “where are you seeing these rights being taken away?”
Greg also mocked Rivera for relying on one friend in Canada (that Geraldo has alluded to in a previous episode) for all of his information.

“It is conservative media that has gone from support to incitement,” Rivera claimed, and then cited a series of polls that supposedly demonstrate the unpopularity of the Freedom Convoy.
When Gutfeld called upon Rivera to come up with some actual evidence, Rivera replied “Open your eyes and look at it.”
“No, I actually read and do research. I don’t just come here and yell,” Gutfeld said, “although sometimes I do,” he joked as a postscript.
“You yell all day, every day,” a visibly upset Rivera responded.
Later in the segment, Gutfeld accused Rivera of disdain for the working class and for implicating Fox News “because we are defending the truckers.”
“I am the working class,” Rivera, who reportedly has an estimated net worth of $20 million, insisted.
When it was Dana Perino’s turn to speak, she described Trudeau as a “complete and total joke,” who is unwilling to follow the lead of several of the country’s provincial leaders who have announced they are dropping the COVID-19-related mandates.
“Justin Trudeau used these workers for a year, two years, excuse me, and made them go to work every day, called them essential, basically didn’t provide them of what they needed. And then in one stroke of the pen on one day said actually you’re no longer an essential worker. Now you’re not essential. Very rude,” she said.
Perino also lamented how the media is doxxing persons who contributed to the Freedom Convoy through GiveSendGo after it was hacked.
Co-host Jesse Watters criticized Trudeau for acting like Dr. Evil in a callback to the Austin Powers movie franchise — “this is not an ISIS caliphate in Ottawa; these are your countrymen. Treat them with a little respect.”
“AOC says democracy is dying; she might be right. And the left is killing it,” he theorized.
In the meantime, Trudeau continues to smear the truckers in parliament because one random troll apparently showed up holding an offensive, abhorrent flag.
Melissa Lantsman, an MP with the opposition Conservative Party who happens to be Jewish, has demanded an apology.

Trudeau is only holding to power in a minority government with the support of the far-left New Democratic Party.
Conservative Leader Candice Bergen also continues to hold Trudeau’s feet to the fire for stubbornly refusing to lift the mandates.
