Thin-skinned Biden snaps at ‘wise guy’ Lester Holt over question on ‘temporary’ inflation

With inflation now officially at its highest rate in nearly 40 years as Americans struggle to keep up with increasing costs, a prickly President Joe Biden didn’t take kindly to being put on the spot by NBC anchor Lester Holt over the grim economic news.

In an excerpt from an interview that will air during the Super Bowl pregame show on Sunday, the notoriously thin-skinned leader reacted to the newsman’s reminder that last summer he said that inflation would be temporary, yet another falsehood from the aging Democrat whose administration has set new standards for dishonesty and gaslighting.

Holt clearly irked Biden when he said, “I think a lot of Americans are wondering what your definition of temporary is.”

Biden shot back, “Well, you’re being a wise guy with me a little bit and I understand that’s your job,” another jab at a reporter from a man who called Peter Doocy of Fox News “a stupid son of a bitch” during a press conference last month.

Biden continued, “But look, at the time what happened was… the ah.. let’s look at the reason for the inflation, the reason for the inflation is the supply chains were cut off meaning that the products, for example automobiles, the lack of computer chips to be able to build those automobiles so they can function, they need those computer chips, they were not available” as he rambled on.

While Biden can blame the nation’s economic woes on computer chip shortages, it does nothing to address the staggering price increases of essential items, most importantly food, according to the latest stats from the Consumer Price Index which showed that January inflation was a whopping 7.5 percent over last January, the highest gain since 1982.

Food costs were up .9 percent in January and 7 percent from a year ago according to the CPI along with housing and energy costs, the latter being up a stunning 27 percent as the damage from Biden’s assault on the domestic fossil fuels industry becomes increasingly obvious and Americans continue to be gouged at the pump.

According to a CNBC report: “That combination of higher food and housing prices “underlines our view that a rapid cyclical acceleration in inflation is underway and, with labor market conditions exceptionally tight, it is unlikely to abate any time soon,” wrote Andrew Hunter, senior U.S. economist at Capital Economics.”

Twitter users reacted to Biden’s snippiness.

If the advance preview of Biden’s interview is any indication, the full version will be a four-alarm dumpster fire with another clip showing the POTUS attempting to defend his historic foreign policy debacle in Afghanistan, but he struggled to properly identify the country in yet another of the embarrassing stumbles that have marked the first year of his presidency.

There is no amount of spin or snark that can obscure the fact that Biden and the Democrats are in big-time trouble with recent polls showing growing discontent with a man whose campaign promises that his decades in Washington made him better suited to run the country than former President Donald J. Trump. But he has proven to be just another inept career politician.
