The campaign of “squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has paid out $170,000 in contributions to an anti-Israel activist who once called Israel an “apartheid state” as well as calling for the defunding of police on several occasions, according to filings reviewed by Fox News Digital.

Specifically, the campaign has paid $147,000 to Unbought Power LLC, a political consulting firm run by Rasha Mubarak, over a period beginning in March of 2020. Tlaib’s PAC, Rooted in Community Leadership, lists Mubarak as “treasurer” and conveniently paid Unbought Power another $23,000 during that time, the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) reported.

Mubarak describes herself as a “Palestinian Muslim American community activist” on Unbought Power’s website, possessing the all-important blue check on Twitter and using the platform to express her anti-Israel ideas, labeling the nation an “apartheid state.”

“These aren’t clashes— it’s an ongoing occupation. These aren’t evictions— they are forced expulsions,” Mubarak tweeted in May of last year. “This isn’t a conflict— it’s settler colonialism, it’s ethnic cleansing, it’s oppression, it’s apartheid.”

“Say it loud. Say it clear. Palestine will be FREE,” she continued with the hashtag “#SaveSheikhJarrah.”

In September of 2021, Mubarak took to Twitter to slam Democratic Rep. Ted Deutch of Florida, who is Jewish, when the latter pushed back on Tlaib, who concurs with Mubarak in her assertion that Israel is an apartheid state.

“He’s flustered [because] how else does one rebuttal the truth?” she claimed. “Bullying [and] disparagement.”

Mubarak also has called for defunding the police on a number of occasions as far back as July of 2020, posting to social media that the United States should “abolish the police,” and calling on Orange County, CA specifically to “defund the police.”

In July 2020, Mubarak tweeted out several pictures of her and Tlaib, wishing her a happy birthday and saying, “So grateful that this soul is in ALL of our lives. @RashidaTlaib’s always fighting for what’s right no matter the pushback. If it’s for making even the smallest difference in someone’s life, she always finds a way. I love being on the freedom side along side you. Happy birthday!”

Neither Tlaib’s campaign nor Unbought Power had responded to Fox News Digital when asked for comment.
