McConnell was asked how many black women he has on his staff to guide his SCOTUS thoughts

As President Joe Biden is set to deliberate on which woman of color he should nominate to the Supreme Court, Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, was asked how many black women he has on his staff, and how they are helping to “inform” him on the subject.

Pablo Manriquez of Latino Rebels asked McConnell the loaded question, but the seasoned congressman batted it away with relative ease.

“How many Black women do you have on staff and how are they informing your decision to move forward with the SCOTUS nomination,” Manriquez asked.

“Actually, I haven’t checked. We don’t have a racial quota in my office. But I’ve had a number of African American employees,” McConnell responded.

It’s because they know that their answer will be twisted.

He actually answered the first part right: “I don’t know because we don’t have quotas.”

The second part is: “that is a stupid fucking question because I’m going to approach the nominee based only on their qualifications”

Dumbest question ever! Why would a black woman staff member be more qualified to inform on a SCOTUS nominee? How about a staff member familiar with the federal judiciary regardless of their color or sex? Maybe this is why poor decisions are being made.
