Controversial activist and vaccine mandate foe Robert Kennedy Jr. has apologized for what many condemned as an inflammatory and wholly inappropriate reference that he made during a speech at the “Defeat the Mandates” rally on Sunday in Washington, D.C.
“I apologize for my reference to Anne Frank, especially to families that suffered the Holocaust horrors. My intention was to use examples of past barbarism to show the perils from new technologies of control. To the extent my remarks caused hurt, I am truly and deeply sorry,” President John F. Kenney’s nephew wrote on Twitter.
Anne Frank was the brave Jewish teen who, with her family, hid from Nazi persecution for about two agonizing years in a tiny Amsterdam attic and whose posthumously published diary subsequently became world-famous.
Someone eventually betrayed the family; they were arrested by the Gestapo and sent to concentration camps where only Frank’s father survived. The must-see Anne Frank House and museum in Amsterdam preserves her profound legacy.

At the rally in D.C., Kennedy — who suffers from a condition called spasmodic dysphonia, which affects his speaking voice — lamented what he described as “turnkey totalitarianism” in the context of vaccine mandates and other manifestations of what he considers infringements on freedom.

“Even in Hitler’s Germany, you could cross the Alps into Switzerland, you could hide in an attic like Anne Frank did,” he asserted during part of his speech, which created almost immediate and widespread condemnation and backlash from institutions and individuals.
“Today, the mechanisms are being put in place that will make it so that none of us can run and none of us can hide.”
At the antivaxx rally in DC, RFK Jr. says that in the future “none of us can run and none of us can hide” because of Bill Gates’ satellites and also 5G, unlike… the Holocaust.

Kennedy’s wife, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines, took to Twitter to forcefully distance herself from his comments at the event.
“My husband’s reference to Anne Frank at a mandate rally in D.C. was reprehensible and insensitive. The atrocities that millions endured during the Holocaust should never be compared to anyone or anything. His opinions are not a reflection of my own.”

As Hines alluded to, some on the left (like RFK Jr.) and the right still apparently don’t comprehend that comparing contemporary political/social issues to Germany’s World War II-era genocidal regime trivializes in the extreme the horrors of the Holocaust.
“In his Tuesday apology, Kennedy did not address his past invocations of Nazis, Hitler and the Holocaust when discussing vaccines. Representatives of his nonprofit, Children’s Health Defense, did not return emails asking about his past comments,” the Daily Mail reported.

Kennedy, whose father was U.S. attorney general under President John F. Kennedy and later a U.S. senator from New York, is the author of a book called “The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health,” which is currently an Amazon number one bestseller.
Robert Kennedy was tragically assassinated in the midst of the 1968 presidential campaign.
