Black radio host says Dems are completely ‘tone deaf’ when it comes to black support for police

In an interview with Brian Kilmeade on Tuesday morning’s “Fox and Friends” following the recent deadly assault on two New York City police officers, Stacy Washington said a BLM-DC tweet was “lacking empathy” and that the Democrats are “tone-deaf.”

Washington, a talk radio host and America First Policy Institute ambassador, reacted to the Black Lives Matter DC tweet by pointing out that “they tweeted out a list of names, individuals that they believe deserve sympathy and empathy.”

“I could go down the list, but all but one of them….are people who are involved with the police with criminal activity or they were under suspicion of criminal activity because of domestic violence calls or 911 calls,” she asserted.

The January 24th tweet disparaged the treatment of ambushed New York City police officers being hailed as heroes and instead highlighted black men recently shot by police.

“So while I don’t say that we can’t mourn the loss of those individuals, it is appropriate in our society to honor people who give themselves to public service and inappropriately and unjustly lose their lives in the course of their duties,” Washington told Kilmeade.

Washington knows something about honor. She is a fourth-generation veteran, serving proudly in the US Air Force, according to the bio on her website, Stacy on the Right. In addition to her weekday talk show host duties, Washington is also the Communications Director of Family Vision Media and is an Ambassador for America First Policy Institute. Stacy served as Co-Chair of Black Voices for Trump, and a Board Member of Veterans for Trump.

Continuing Washington’s train of thought on public servants unjustly losing their lives doing their duties, Kilmeade jumped in to report that, according to the FBI’s Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted (LEOKA) Database, 73 officers were intentionally killed in 2021, which is a 59% increase from the previous year.

He suggested that the numbers might have something to do with the disrespect shown to officers after the death of George Floyd and the subsequent defunding of police departments around the country.

Kilmeade also provided polling data that showed a marked drop in African-American support for President Biden since his election; Biden had the support of 83% of blacks in November of 2020 and now has just 64% approval among those same voters.

Washington commented on the numbers: “If you look at the summer after the unjust Floyd killing – George Floyd was killed unjustly – that summer they did polling with Politico and Marist and they found that 82% of blacks still want more police in their communities, even while all of that [the rioting] was going on.”

“The Democrat Party is tone-deaf on this,” she asserted.

Her message to Democrats?

“I think they should be concerned about actually making cities safer and saving lives. Stop politicking and make the streets safer,” she advised.
