There is apparently no level to which Democrat gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried won’t descend in her quest to displace Ron DeSantis at the helm of the Sunshine State and her likening of the sitting governor to German dictator Adolf Hitler is a new low for the Florida agriculture commissioner who has predictably been given a free pass by the media.
DeSantis spokesperson Christina Pushaw has issued a challenge to the press following the despicable remarks by the ambitious wannabe during an interview on a local podcast where she claimed that the immensely popular governor had much in common with the Nazi madman who was responsible for the murder of six million Jews who perished during his reign of terror.
Pushaw, who is tasked with debunking the false narratives that the left has continually churned out against Governor DeSantis, took to Twitter where she brought attention to Fried’s reprehensible comparison which she claimed was rooted in her studying of Hitler and how he rose to power.
Agriculture Commissioner and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried said that Governor DeSantis compares to Adolf Hitler "in a lot of ways" during an interview with The Florida Roundup. "I have studied Hitler and how he got to power." 🤡

She also blasted the media for their lack of interest in Fried’s incendiary remarks.
“If we had an honest media instead of DNC stenographers, reporters would be criticizing @NikkiFried’s dishonest and offensive claim that @GovRonDeSantis is the modern Hitler. Such a comparison trivializes Hitler’s crimes against humanity. This is not funny, it’s sick,” wrote Pushaw.

Pushaw also accused Fried of trivializing the Holocaust, “With this hysterical comparison, Fried not only smears millions of Floridians as Nazis, but also trivializes Hitler’s crimes against humanity. This is not funny, it’s sick.”
On Saturday, Pushaw kept up the issue at the forefront, tweeting that “11 months to go, and we are already at the point in the 2022 election cycle where Covidian politicians are calling
@GovRonDeSantis Hitler because… he won’t let local governments fine people for not covering their faces and won’t let corporations force people to get shots.”

Fried’s dishonest appeal to the angry and misinformed who comprise the Democratic Party’s base was made on Friday’s edition of “The Florida Round-Up,” where she responded to a question from co-host Melissa Ross on her claims that DeSantis rules like an authoritarian dictator.
Hoo Boy… It's one thing to *read* that Nikki Fried compared Ron DeSantis to Hitler; completely another to blow by several offramps en route to that comparison. Will media cover? pic.twitter.com/bMYDowcZGD

“He is doing everything possible to take power away from local governments, taking away people’s abilities to protest, making it harder to vote, talking about, you know, banning books,” she said, “that’s what dictators do. Instead of listening and trying to govern with the people, he is trying to govern over the people, and, you know, that, I’m sorry, I’m a student of history, too, I saw the rise of Hitler.”
That prompted a response from the incredulous interviewer who asked, “Are you comparing DeSantis to Hitler?”
Fried made it clear that was exactly what she was inferring, “In a lot of ways, yes,” she replied.
“I have studied Hitler and how he got to power, you know, wanting his own militia,” she said, referring to the revival of the Florida State guard which would be able to provide assistance to the National Guard in responding to emergencies, a prudent idea for a state that is regularly hit by hurricanes.
In December, Fried appeared on MSNBC with Joy Reid, aka “the race lady,” where she misrepresented the state guard as a “military force that only answers to him.”
Ron DeSantis is trying to recreate a military force that only answers to him.
This should scare the hell out of every democracy-loving Floridian & American.
I’ll be shining a light on this tonight with @JoyAnnReid on @MSNBC and every day until we beat him in 2022.

With the media missing in action, Twitter users shredded Fried over her playing of the Hitler card.

If we lived in an honest world, @NikkiFried would apologize for such a disgusting comparison and the Corporate Media would hold her accountable for how despicable it is. But we don't live in an honest world. If you are on the same side as the narratives, you can say anything. https://t.co/msZpffnEGh

I didn’t think we’d get to the “making light of Hitler and the Holocaust to p0wn DeSantis” stage so soon, but here we are. Sick, @NikkiFried. Sick.

Ron is really living rent free in Nikki Fried’s head.

.@NikkiFried this is embarrassing
Not only do you not understand WWII, or how Hitler rose to power…you've never studied how other despots came to power…and you're following in those footsteps.
You only brought up Hitler because you're on Twitter 24/7. https://t.co/SmLAArSJCP

As vile as Fried’s remarks were, they are also brutally ironic in that it is the head of her own party, President Joe Biden who has unleashed the federal law enforcement apparatus against his political enemies, is intolerant of dissent, relies on propaganda, and has often descended into the type of strident demagoguery that was regularly used by Der Führer when he roused the rabble in 1930s German beer halls.
Fried will face off against former GOP governor Charlie Crist – who transitioned to Democrat after Barack Obama was elected to a second term – in the upcoming primary for the honor of serving as road kill when DeSantis rolls to a second term in November.
