French president, Macron says he wants to ‘piss off’ the unvaccinated by treating them like crap until they succumb

French President Emmanuel Macron stepped up his efforts for vaccine mandates, claiming that he would like to “piss off” unvaccinated individuals. Currently, the country is nearing the 75% full vaccination mark.

Three months ahead of a presidential election, Macron set off an uproar after provocative words insisting that, while he won’t send unvaccinated people to prison, starting January 15, they will be restricted from doing many things.

“I really want to piss them off, and we’ll carry on doing this – to the end,” Macron said in an interview with French newspaper Le Parisien, according to Fox News.

“I won’t send [unvaccinated people] to prison, so we need to tell them, from 15 January, you will no longer be able to go to the restaurant. You will no longer be able to go for a coffee, you will no longer be able to go to the theatre. You will no longer be able to go to the cinema,” he added.

Opponents of Macron are labeling his comments “unworthy” of a president.

Marine Le Pen, perhaps Macron’s chief opponent in the upcoming election just three months away, told reporters Tuesday that “he (Macron) is continuing his policy of pitting the French against one another.”

Le Pen added, that “even if one doesn’t share their choice, they have broken none of the country’s laws.”

“A president shouldn’t say that…Emmanuel Macron is unworthy of his office,” she later tweeted.

“Emmanuel Macron says he has learned to love the French, but it seems he especially likes to despise them,” Bruno Retailleau, a French senator and president of The Republicans group, said, according to the BBC.

And leftist politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon admitted: “It’s clear, the vaccination pass is a collective punishment against individual freedom.”

Much of the skepticism may stem from reports that the new Omicron variant of the virus, while more infectious, is proving to be less lethal than the Delta variant. This factor, coupled with the less than perfect results of the vaccine, is resulting in increasing numbers of the populace questioning governmental mandate measures which are seen as increasingly draconian.

Part of the increased reluctance comes from the conclusion that, while unvaccinated individuals were proven to be more likely to be infected by both variants and did show a “higher transmissibility” in comparison to vaccinated individuals, those vaccinated were just as vulnerable to Omicron as those unvaccinated.

Vaccinated individuals, meanwhile, were “2.7-3.7 times more susceptible” to Omicron than they were to Delta,” University of Copenhagen researchers confirmed.
