CBS stealthily censors own reporter’s remarks claiming devastating effects of school closures on kids

CBS once again demonstrated its bias when the network edited out its own reporter’s emotional remarks on the damage that has been done to kids who have been made to suffer as a result of policies that closed down schools during the heavy-handed response to COVID.

On Sunday’s edition of “Face The Nation,” when the panel was given an opportunity to weigh in on the year’s most underreported stories, longtime reporter Jan Crawford ripped the decisions of political officials that inflicted severe punishment on the nation’s children who were forced to stay at home away from friends and social interaction as schools were shuttered and sports activities were canceled.

When asked by Margaret Brennan on her choice of important stories that were largely ignored by the media, Crawford didn’t pull any punches during the roundtable discussion.

“For me, I mean, my kids hear me rant about this every day so I might as well tell you guys it’s- it’s the crushing impact that our COVID policies have had on young kids and children,” she said. “By far the least serious risk for serious illness, but, I mean even teenagers, you know, a healthy teenager has a one in a million chance of getting and dying from COVID, which is way lower than, you know, dying in a car wreck on a road trip but they have suffered and sacrificed the most, especially kids and underrepresented at-risk communities and now we have the Surgeon General saying there’s a mental health crisis among our kids.”

“The risk of suicide girl suicide attempts among girls now up 51% this year, black kids nearly twice as likely as white kids to die by suicide, I mean, school closures, lockdowns, cancellation of sports. You couldn’t even go on a playground in the D.C. area without cops scurrying- getting- shooing the kids off tremendous negative impact on kids, and it’s been an afterthought,” Crawford continued.

“You know, it’s hurt their dreams, their future learning, loss, risk of abuse, their mental health, now with our knowledge, our vaccines, if our policies don’t reflect a more measured and reasonable approach for our children, they will be paying for our generation’s decisions, the rest of their lives and that, to me, is the greatest underreported story of the past year,” she said.

Crawford’s remarks drew much attention on social media but the national television audience was deprived of hearing them because the network inexplicably chose to edit them out of the broadcast although they are still available in their entirety on Twitter and other platforms.

Curtis Houck of media watchdog NewsBusters blew the whistle on CBS’s trickery.

The show’s full transcript, which has been posted on the CBS News website, shows the true flow of the discussion that the network censors deemed to be too truthful to be aired to the general public.

It was clear that Crawford struck a nerve with her brutal honesty and many who did see her remarks in their entirety weighed in on Twitter.

It has been said that some of the greatest lies are those of omission and the media is desperate to keep the lid on Pandora’s box of the damage caused by authoritarian Democrats and their soul-crushing COVID mitigation policies, especially the harm that has been inflicted on the nation’s youngest citizens.
