Fox News host Tucker Carlson rarely passes on an opportunity to ridicule U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., whose greatest claim to fame other than allegedly passing gas on live television was to fall into a Beijing honeytrap and sleep with Chinese spy Fang Fang, and Monday was no different, with Carlson suggesting the attention-loving Democrat has had “multiple chlamydia infections.”

With a focus on the pandemic on Monday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Carlson noted that Sens. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., have tested positive for COVID-19, despite both being fully vaccinated and having received a booster shot, asking what is the lesson to learn here.

“Well, the lesson that Eric Swalwell is drawing from all of this is that unvaccinated Americans should be banned by law from flying on airplanes in their own country,” Carlson said.

The remark being a reference to a tweet Swalwell posted on Sunday: “On a flight now to Bay Area and it is one-hundred percent batty that the unvaccinated are allowed to fly. It’s unsafe in the cabin and we are transporting the virus. Requiring the vaccine to fly is the LEAST we can do to stop the spread.”

“Now, the airlines disagree with this. They thought a lot about it. So does any sane physician. They have too,” Carlson said. “But Eric Swalwell, who’s probably the most physically unclean member of Congress, now imagines himself a public health official with the power to make these decisions. So before we go any further and grant Eric Swalwell that power, we probably oughta see his medical records.”

“It’d be kind of ironic,” he concluded, “if a guy with multiple chlamydia infections was lecturing the rest of us about how to keep safe from a virus. We await that data.”

Before introducing Dr. Scott Atlas to the show, Carlson cautioned viewers to be aware of what they are seeing in regard to the current reaction to the Omicron variant.

“This is not a public health campaign designed to save you from a variant that has not killed a single American,” he said. “These are the muscle spasms of a dying political party. The people in charge are on their way out. Unfortunately, they can still hurt you.”

Noting that there “is something about the hysteria about a variant that right now has no deaths in the United States, especially combined with no guidance whatsoever on how to get treated for this, should you get it,” to ask Atlas to comment.

“This is an extension of everything I wrote about in my book, and that is a complete lack of critical thinking. A shocking lack of critical thinking,” the former Trump coronavirus adviser observed. “The Omicron  — there is a disconnect between the cases and serious illness or death. That’s good.”

Citing cases in South Africa, he said for the most part the Omicron variant has been mild.

“This is good news. In fact, this is how pandemics end,” Atlas said. “What’s stunning is that there is no word of this expected good thing happening at the end of a pandemic from Dr. Fauci.”

He said Fauci and other public health leaders continue to push the same mitigation policies that were implemented across the country that “failed to stop the infection.”

“They also failed to stop people from dying as they were implemented throughout the entire country in 2020,” Atlas said. “They don’t admit it, but they even worse destroyed millions of people. What we are seeing is a repeat of everything before. A lack of logic and denial of science.”

Carlson asked Atlas to further explain his end of the pandemic remark.

“Everyone who’s a competent doctor knows that as a pandemic evolves, the viruses mutates. The mutation allows the viruses, or the ones that keep being contagious, are the ones that survive but they’re less lethal,” he explained. “As we get to a stage that’s called endemic, where there is a relatively constant or little ebb and flows of infection, but very few deaths, that’s when there is no more pandemic.”

“The pandemic is not about infections that are not harmful. The pandemic only matters if the diseases are very serious or cause death,” he continued. “If you don’t have death and you just have a lot of people getting a mild infection, that shouldn’t panic anyone. That’s in fact showing that there’s either a very, very mild virus which is not a big problem, or that there’s enough immunity and protection against the severe consequences. So that’s how the pandemic ends — the destruction of the pandemic. If it’s not lethal and not causing serious illness really should make people feel good. It shouldn’t be a cause for panic. It’s the opposite.”
