Conservative notables Tucker Carlson of Fox News and Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA took to the stage in Arizona Saturday to kick off the latter’s AmericaFest conference.
Kirk, who founded the conservative grassroots organization, spoke about a number of issues including the transgender rights movement and “self-righteous sycophant” Dr. Anthony Fauci, as he called on his mostly younger audience to push back on the left’s “managed decline” of the U.S.
“We know there’s a deeper game being played here than tax policy right now in our country,” Kirk said at one point. “The game that’s being played is very simple: Are you thankful that you’re an American, or are you angry that you’re an American? And are you willing to do something about it?”
The TPUSA founder went on to rip COVID-19 vaccine mandates as well as the creeping tyranny he said the pandemic enabled and was used by political leaders to steal Americans’ constitutional guarantees and civil liberties.
“No one should be forced to get the vaccine against their will under any circumstances whatsoever. Period. End of story,” Kirk declared.
“People are waking up to exactly the motivations of either Fauci or the whole ruling class which is very simple: This was a means to an end for them to try to control your life and your children, and we are not going to let that happen,” he added.
Meanwhile, top-rated Fox host Carlson said that natural obligations to your family and community is what the left seeks to destroy, adding that he has never seen people “wrecking stuff for the sake of wrecking stuff” in the way leftist politicians have taken aim at the country’s societal institutions as he went on to speculate they are doing so because they have unfulfilling personal lives.
“There are laws of nature,” Carlson said. “We are subject to them. We can’t change them. We can’t transition out of them. We can’t identify as being exempt from them. They don’t change. They don’t care what we think. Nature, God, are outside of our control. We can only respond.”

In defending former CNN host Chris Cuomo, who decided to try and help his embattled brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in dealing with his sexual harassment scandal, Carlson said that the left seeks to destroy the natural instinct of familial ties.
“Of all the things that you can fire Chris Cuomo for, and there a million, faking his quarantine, lecturing us about masks, the thing they fired him for was family loyalty,” said Carlson.
Both he and Kirk pressed the audience to adhere to their natural family ties instincts as well as those of friends and relatives.

Kirk ended his speech by asking anyone in the venue who had attended alone to raise their hands to let event organizers reach out to them.
“We have people gathered in a room,” Kirk said, citing the number of conservative young people and the pandemic, before adding: “There’s something special about that.”
In addition to other notable conservative speakers like Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro and Candace Owens, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Green and Matt Gaetz are also slated to appear at the four-day event.
And several right-leaning country music acts will perform as well, The Daily Wire noted, including Brantley Gilbert, Dustin Lynch, Russell Dickerson, and RaeLynn.
