Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have been busy burnishing their cred in the entertainment world since leaving the White House, to include a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix signed in 2018.

But that may not be enough, at least for Michelle Obama, according to Fox News media and entertainment contributor Raymond Arroyo.

“Michelle Obama showed up on ‘Rachael Ray’ this week, looking very much like a daytime talk-show host,” he noted during the weekly “Friday Follies” segment of host Laura Ingraham’s prime-time show.

To support his contention, Arroyo went on to play a clip featuring Obama playing the role of interviewer instead of being the guest, asking Ray how she dealt with working at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“You were in the position to have to … recreate a production studio in your home and let people in,” Obama said to Ray, adding: “Talk a little bit more about what that was like for you.”

The exchange led Arroyo to declare that Michelle Obama appears to be “Oprah in waiting.”

Before he speculated about Obama’s talk-show future, Arroyo noted that the former first lady appeared as a guest on the Christmas episode of the weekly comedy “Blackish,” in which he described her as “another Democratic ghost of Christmas past.”

“That’s right. For the new season finale of ‘Blackish,’ that great comedian, Michelle Obama, is a guest star. They’ve released some pix of the historic appearance,” he noted, showing a photo of Obama with the cast.

A tweet from the show described Obama as a “trailblazer.”

“And I think I know why this is taking place,” Arroyo noted. “Remember, Stacey Abrams got an Emmy nod for just doing a little voiceover on ‘Blackish,’ so I think Michelle’s trying to get her due here.”

Arroyo also highlighted President Biden’s head-turning, gaffe-filled commencement speech at the University of South Carolina, as well as lampooning Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) for her pandering shift to the hard-left in pushing for expansion of the U.S. Supreme Court with more liberals to add “balance.”

“George Bernard Shaw … wrote a play called ‘Mrs. Warren’s Profession,’ about a prostitute. He never imagined that Mrs. Warren would use the court to sell herself but apparently, she is,” Arroyo quipped.

He then addressed former President Bill Clinton’s plans to hold a “MasterClass” session.

“I wonder if there’s going to be an ‘Isolating Interns’ lesson plan,” joked Arroyo. “Maybe a ‘How to Duck Lighting Instruments Hurled by Your Enraged Wife.’ They could have a session on that.

“For Bill Clinton to come out and do this is just unbelievable. … He and Hillary were a 2-for-1 on that ‘MasterClass’ deal. We’ll see what happens,” he added.

In May 2018, Netflix announced its multi-year deal with the Obamas via Twitter, noting the couple would be helping to write and produce films, documentaries, and shows.

“President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement to produce films and series for Netflix, potentially including scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features,” the streaming behemoth noted.

The previous March, the company announced that former Obama official Susan Rice was joining the company’s board of directors.

“One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience,” the former president said at the time.

“That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world,” he added.
