President Joe Biden lashed out at Republicans as he tried to rally the troops with tough talk about next year’s midterm elections, defiantly rebutting the conventional wisdom that the upcoming contests will be a day of reckoning for Democrats as well as a referendum on his own policies.
Biden took the stage at the Democratic National Committee’s big holiday celebration in Washington D.C. where he sought to instill optimism in a demoralized party that has presided over a year in which Americans have been battered by skyrocketing prices, unprecedented shortages, rampant crime, and his ongoing failure to get COVID under control despite campaign trail promises.
Following a warm-up act from VP Kamala Harris, Biden spoke to several hundred party bigwigs at the event which was held at the Hotel Washington where he touted his ongoing drive to endlessly jab Americans, promoted his “Build Back Better” legislative package and delivered plenty of crowd-pleasing red meat, especially when it comes to so-called “voting rights,” a phrase that has been used to disguise the party’s efforts to stack the deck in their favor.

“Today, the right to vote and the rule of law are under unrelenting assault from Republican governors, attorney generals, secretaries of state, state legislators,” Biden said. “They’re following my predecessor deep into the abyss. The struggle is no longer just who gets to vote or making it easier for eligible people to vote, it’s about who gets to count the vote and whether your vote counts at all. It’s a sinister combination of voter suppression and election subversion. It’s un-American, it’s undemocratic, it’s unpatriotic and, sadly, it is not unprecedented now.”
He continued, “The vice president has been leading our administration’s effort, and we’ve supported Democrats pressing to enact critical voting rights bills since day one of this administration, making sure we have unanimous support.”
“Look, but each and every time, Senate Republicans have blocked the way. They’re afraid even just to debate the bills in the United States Senate, even on a bill that includes provisions that have traditionally been supported by a Republican,” Biden added.
“This battle is not over, this door is not closed, we have to keep up the fight and get it done, because our democracy depends on it,” once again invoking the word “democracy” which has been hijacked by the political left to cloak its extremist agenda and to smear its political enemies.
Biden also suggested that his dismal approval ratings don’t mean Democrats’ Christmas wish list won’t be fulfilled.
“And, folks, there’s so much more to do: police reform, criminal justice reform, immigration, gun violence, the courts, protecting a woman’s right to choose. All these critical issues,” he said.
The tough-talking career politician then called for party unity while warning Republicans that things are going to get down and dirty next year, “And as we fight to make progress on all of them, I hope you remember what got us to the White House in the first place. In 2020, we won as a unified Democratic Party — more unified than ever.”
“Now we look at 2022. I want to tell my Republican friends: Get ready, pal. You’re going in for a problem,” Biden said.

At DNC holiday party, Biden just told the well-dressed guests that they would never have to sit in a McDonalds parking lot to get internet.

Public sentiment may have rapidly soured on Biden and his party but rest assured that the White House will fight like a cornered animal to keep Congress in Democrat hands.
