Love them or hate them, the fact remains that Fox News programming is making big ratings gains, and their late-night shows are nothing to be messed with.
There was a time when an interview with a sitting president was the show to watch. After all, who doesn’t want to hear what the leader of the free world has to say? But in the age of President Joe Biden more people would rather watch a late-night news/comedy program. That alone says a lot, but take a look at the numbers.

A week of standard programming (without hosting presidents) netted Greg Gutfeld’s eponymous show second place, with an average of 1.9M viewers, which is massive for the network. The only other Fox News show to even crack the top 10 was “Fox News @ Night” with host Shannon Bream, which averaged less than a million views.
“Tonight Show” only managed to get 1.6M average viewers in the same week.
But breaking down the numbers further, Fox News media reporter Joseph A. Wulfsohn noted that Gutfeld still had more viewers than Fallon even during his interview with Biden, which ended up being a remote affair with the president on a screen instead of in a chair.
Jimmy Fallon’s interview with Biden on Friday reached 1.9M viewers.@greggutfeld had 1.95M viewers that same night without the sitting POTUS as a guest. https://t.co/0rvMnWxf0g

Twitter users couldn’t keep their opinions to themselves:
But 81 million votes…most popular president of all time…

Colbert-who thinks he is funny is beyond me. He stinks as a comedian.

Every time I watch the Office and see commercials for Trevor Noah's show or The God's Honest Truth, I always wonder who the hell watches that show? And who in their right mind thinks Trevor Noah is a comedian. Apparently nobody. https://t.co/94aaIM0Doc

I’ve had bowel movements with more viewers than @Trevornoah

Simple math even Noah can understand:
not funny+not insightful+egotistical=failure.— Michael Teller (@Michael4Honesty) December 14, 2021
If there was a venue large enough, Trump could get more than 355k people to attend an event in any major city across America. Noah can’t get them to tune in from their own living rooms. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
