The shrillness of the ongoing leftist hate fest against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reached new levels this week after he proposed creating a civilian volunteer force, eliciting the tiresome comparisons to fascist dictators that Democrats and their operatives routinely invoke against their political adversaries.
Despite the hyperventilating of social media influencers and pundits like MSNBC’s Joy Reid, one of the top purveyors of the overblown narrative about the so-called January 6 “insurrection” being a serious attempt to overthrow the U.S. government, the primary purpose of the Florida State Guard would be to provide assistance to the National Guard in responding to emergencies, a prudent idea for a state that is regularly hit by hurricanes.
Reid’s misleading suggestion that DeSantis could be building a renegade army that is answerable only to him were likely swallowed hook, line and sinker by her gullible target audience but her tweet of a CNN article on the Florida State Guard with the assertion that it is “fascisty bananas” was a bridge too far for another liberal hysteric, resulting in an embarrassing calling out by Sarah Silverman.
So… y’all know this is fascisty bananas, right…? https://t.co/Q6a7eotAws

Jimmy Kimmel’s ex-girlfriend, who co-stars with dope-addled Seth Rogan in the raunchy “woke” HBO Max Christmas series “Santa Inc.” blindsided the “race lady” by chastising her for not bothering to read the CNN article before tweeting it out to her followers.
Please read the article before you post this stuff you’re a news outlet. The truth has to matter

“Please read the article before you post this stuff you’re a news outlet. The truth has to matter,” tweeted Silverman.
What Reid left out is that CNN’s article noted that DeSantis’ proposal is hardly unique and that nearly two dozen states already have their own versions of a state guard, even deep-blue liberal strongholds.
According to CNN, “States have the power to create defense forces separate from the national guard, though not all of them use it. If Florida moves ahead with DeSantis’ plan to reestablish the civilian force, it would become the 23rd active state guard in the country, DeSantis’ office said in a press release, joining California, Texas and New York.”
Silverman’s rubbing of Reid’s malignantly dishonest nose into a pile of inconvenient facts drew a positive response from other Twitter users.
I want to say the Governor controls the national guard here in WI too… I could be totally wrong so don't quote me but I want to say Evers has deployed them when there has been tornadoes & flooding here w/out waiting for the Pentagon to give permission.

I can’t believe I agree with Sarah Silverman on something.

agreed…the article points out that it’s not completely unheard of
that said, media posts this stuff to get a ‘rise’ out of the general populace
we need to stop reacting to every bit of nonsense the media is dangling in front of us to get a (predicted) reaction

Reid responded to Silverman’s public admonishment by insisting that she did read it and included a link to a slanted MSNBC propaganda piece claiming that the Florida State Guard would be a “weaponized force” loyal to DeSantis.

Also reacting to DeSantis’ proposal for the Florida State Guard were his two Democrat opponents in next year’s election where the popular Sunshine State Republican is expected to easily win a second term largely due to his level-headed measures in dealing with the COVID pandemic that have made Florida the gold standard of the rest of the country.
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, who appeared on Reid’s show, conjured dark images of a coming assault on “democracy,” a term that no longer even remotely resembles its real definition to the left but rather is a cloak for their own fascistic power grabs.
Ron DeSantis is trying to recreate a military force that only answers to him.
This should scare the hell out of every democracy-loving Floridian & American.
I’ll be shining a light on this tonight with @JoyAnnReid on @MSNBC and every day until we beat him in 2022.

Also assailing DeSantis was former Republican governor Charlie Crist, a flip-flopping career politician and shameless opportunist who transitioned to Democrat in 2012, right after Barack Obama was re-elected to a second term.
“Ron DeSantis just announced he’s creating a paramilitary force accountable only to the Governor.” Tweeted the party jumper.
Ron DeSantis just announced he’s creating a paramilitary force accountable only to the Governor.
When will the madness stop? Only when we defeat him in 2022, which is why I’m running for Governor.— Charlie Crist (@CharlieCrist) December 3, 2021
The idea that Silverman felt free to call out Reid is an indication that the left is beginning to turn against each other and could be eyeing the lifeboats as Joe Biden’s presidency sinks into a sea of disaster as a result of his ruinous far-left policies and his authoritarian form of governance, a fascism that is perfectly acceptable to the “woke” left mouthpieces of the Democratic Party.
