Former President Donald Trump appeared Tuesday night on Fox News’ “Hannity,” and as the interview was coming to a close, host and show namesake Sean Hannity informed viewers that Kyle Rittenhouse had visited with the former president while in Florida, sharing a photo of the meeting featuring the teen and his family posing with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

“I want to get your take on two issues. After the verdict Kyle Rittenhouse went to visit you,” Hannity said. “I have a picture of it. I want to get your thoughts on the rush to judgment, especially by Joe Biden. Because I think Kyle Rittenhouse has a lawsuit against many in the media, and Joe Biden himself. Many legal experts agree with my opinion. I want to ask you about that and the tragedy of Waukesha.”

“He was a rough cookie,” Trump replied, speaking of Darrell Brooks, 39, the black man arrested after an SUV plowed through a Christmas parade in Wisconsin on Sunday, killing 6, including an 8-year-old boy, and injuring more than 40 others. “It looks like they caught him in some other act and he was speeding. This guy was crazy and a real professional criminal and a bad guy.”

“The good news is he hated Trump, okay. He hated Trump, based on early reporting. He should not have been out,” he said. “He should have never — can you imagine? I looked at that car going in, someone said 30 miles per hour — that was a lot more than 30 — right through the middle of a band of people hitting them from the back. Nobody can look at it. You can’t even look at it.”

The former president predicted the reported 5 deaths would go higher, all “because of a bad guy who was out on a very low bail,” and was accurate in doing so, as it was reported Tuesday night that an 8-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries, becoming the sixth fatality.

“Kyle, I got to know him a little bit. He called, be wanted to know if he could come over and say hello,” Trump said, addressing Hannity’s second question. “Because he was a fan, unlike the other guy. He came over with his mother. Really a nice young man and what he went through, that was prosecution misconduct.”

“He should not have had to suffer through a trial for that. He was going to be dead. If he didn’t pull that trigger, that guy who put the gun to his head, in one-quarter of a second, he was going to pull the trigger and Kyle would have been dead,” he added. “He’s a really good young guy. He’s 18 years old, just left Mar-a-Lago a little while ago and he should never have been put through that. That was prosecutorial misconduct and it’s happening all over the United States right now with the Democrats.”

Rittenhouse was in the free state of Florida for an exclusive interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson that aired Monday — the teen buried his former attorneys Lin L. Wood and John Pierce during the interview, claiming they made him languish in jail for 87 days while they raised vast amounts of money in his name — money that the teen said was for their own benefit.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ press secretary, Christina Pushaw, shared a photo of Rittenhouse online ahead of the Carlson interview, tweeting: “Kyle and his family are visiting the great state of Florida. Welcome to our free state and enjoy your time here!”

As for Rittenhouse meeting with Trump, the fallout Wednesday from the left should be interesting but two early tweets pretty much summed it all up:
