A pizzeria in Florida is seeing sales take off for a product born out of the frustrations of its owner over inflation and shortages brought about by the supply chain crisis, an owner who clearly doesn’t take himself too seriously.
Phil Solorzano, owner of six Solorzano’s Pizzerias in Sarasota County, created the “FJB Pizza,” which is an intended jab at President Joe Biden, who is making life difficult for small business owners with his ineffective leadership. FJB stands for “F— Joe Biden,” and is written in pepperoni.
“Pepperoni more than doubled. Most products have doubled,” Solorzano told Patch. “Kenny has been telling me for months there are products you can’t find, that are out for two to three weeks. It’s just a pain in the butt.”
“It’s the same pepperoni, the same distributor, but twice the price. We’re taking a jab at Biden,” he added.
Kenny Palin is the general manager and franchise owner, and he told the website, “Business owners have also reached out to us and said hey, listen, we wish we were in a position where we could be true to ourselves and say what we really want to say.”

He added that it was done in “good fun,” while downplaying the effect politics should have in our lives.
“It’s light-hearted humor. It’s politics and it’s not meant to be the end all be all,” Palin said.
Sales started off slow, just a few “FJB” pies selling in the first couple of days, according to Patch, but quickly picked up and the pizzeria chain is now selling more than 20 on most days.
“I’m not trying to be cocky. We have a very good product and we know what we’re doing,” Solorzano said. “We have outstanding loyal customers that love our product. They might not agree with our politics or some of the stupid things I post on Facebook and that’s okay.”

A post on the company’s Facebook page called for other pizzerias to get in on the act to draw attention to the challenges they are facing.
The entry read: “In honor of the sky rocket prices going up on pepperoni, wings, and many other restaurant supplies! We encourage other pizzerias to post a #FJBPizza and show your support to the huge hit the restaurant industry is taking!”
Solorzano was also planning to introduce an “LGB” pizza, which stands for “Let’s Go Brandon.”
With the “Let’s go, Brandon” craze sweeping the nation, some forget that it all began at a NASCAR race in Talladega, Ala. The winning driver, Brandon Brown, was being interviewed by NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast as the crowd behind them chanted “”F— Joe Biden.”
Whether she misheard them or misrepresented what they were saying may be up for debate, but Stavast said on air that the crowd was chanting “Let’s go, Brandon” and history was made.
Ironically, with NASCAR being woke under the leadership of its President Steve Phelps — who transformed a garage door pull rope into a national media event to rescue NASCAR from its racist redneck base — the sport took the extra measure recently to distance itself from the “LGB” chant.
“It’s an unfortunate situation and I feel for Brandon, I feel for Kelli,” Phelps said of the incident. “I think, unfortunately, it speaks to the state of where we are as a country. We do not want to associate ourselves with politics, the left or the right.”
