President Joe Biden signed the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill into law Monday during a ceremony on the White House South Lawn that was attended by Vice President Kamala Harris, current and former members of Congress, governors and a number of mayors.
And while Biden seems to live in a world of his own making, as seen when he claimed the legislation “does something truly historic” — in his view, it will “rebuild the backbone of this nation” — at least he’s not Kamala Harris, who found herself being snubbed at the signing ceremony when the event announcer appeared to skip the vice president’s turn to speak. Even more embarrassing, it happened as she stepped onto the podium to speak.
At that same moment, the announcer introduced Iron Workers Local 86 political activist Heather Kurtenbach, prompting Harris to sheepishly quip, “In a moment.”
While the incident was more of a blunder than an assumed snub, the fact that it comes after a disastrous CNN report about “entrenched dysfunction and lack of focus” from Harris and her staff amid a growing divide with the White House leaves some room to wonder.

The CNN report sent shockwaves through the administration and has led to lots of speculation of a “Shade War” between Team Biden and Team Kamala, as noted by One America News Network host Jack Posobiec.

Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, chimed in to suggest that the White House “is trying to use Kamala as a scapegoat for all their failures.”
“They’re planting negative stories about her. I don’t pity her obviously, but it is pathetic of Biden,” she tweeted, in response to the CNN article.
It was clear from the beginning, when Biden put “border” in Harris’ portfolio. Handling the border crisis should be the president’s job, but he wanted to avoid responsibility & accountability while damaging Harris politically. She walked into it because of her ambition.

Such scuttlebutt prompted White House press secretary Jen Psaki to take to Twitter to declare that Harris was a “vital partner” to the president — which only caused more speculation, as her remark was compared to receiving the dreaded “vote of confidence” before one’s ouster.
“For anyone who needs to hear it. @VP is not only a vital partner to @POTUS but a bold leader who has taken on key, important challenges facing the country—from voting rights to addressing root causes of migration to expanding broadband,” Psaki tweeted.
On somewhat of a side note, not that it will get much coverage in the liberal media, Biden appeared to joke at one point during his remarks Monday about something going on between first lady Jill Biden and the vice president’s spouse, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, whom the president erroneously called “second husband.”
“I want to thank everyone who helped make this happen: Vice President Harris, my Cabinet members, my White House team, Jill, Doug, our first lady, and our — first lady and our second husband — no, I’m joking. These guys travel all over the country together. I’m getting worried, you know.”
Nonetheless, the snub that drew plenty of responses on social media.. here’s a quick sampling of some of those entries from Twitter:

At this point, you have to wonder if Kamala’s team watches episodes of Veep for inspiration. https://t.co/rnrYd1B7FM

“Hail to the chief” plays and VP Harris is the one at the podium. I suspect we will get another late night tweet from Jen Psaki trying to quell rumors that “there is no dysfunction” between POTUS/VP offices. https://t.co/siLMZ4Krr2

A perfect accompaniment for CNN’s report: “Worn out by what they see as entrenched dysfunction and lack of focus, key West Wing aides have largely thrown up their hands at Vice President Kamala Harris and her staff — deciding there simply isn’t time to deal with them right now.” https://t.co/UlpKWKYjmN
