The collective indifference from the Democrat elite toward the suffering of ordinary Americans who have been battered by inflation and shortages is already well documented but their haughty defenses of President Joe Biden’s economic failures are stunning in their audacity.

In the latest effort to gaslight the nation into believing that inflation unseen since the days when Jimmy Carter was in the White House isn’t necessarily a negative thing, the administration and its operatives are fanning out across the media to promote the message of “don’t worry, be happy” by downplaying the pain at the pump, excessive prices for everything that can still be easily found and the belt-tightening that will take place over the holiday season.

One of the regime’s surrogates, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle is drawing comparisons to Marie Antoinette for her breakdown of why things really aren’t so bad for Americans whom she suggests lack “perspective” over what some have dubbed “Bidenflation” and the fact that prices which haven’t risen this much this quickly in over three decades and that stock prices and savings socked away during COVID more than compensate for the increased costs.

During an appearance on NBC’s weekend edition of the “Today Show” the avatar for the aristocracy spun like a top to downplay the miserable economic conditions which were confirmed in last week’s release of the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) that showed inflation surging to its highest level in over 30 years with October’s basket of products up 6.2 percent from a year ago.

Responding to host Willie Geist’s question on when prices may reverse course, Ruhle said, “Well listen Willie, nobody knows exactly when they’re going down, but you have to put all this in perspective. This inflation is not in isolation and the government predicted it was going to be a challenging recovery, recovery all tied to COVID.”

She continued, “So it’s why you see things like that expanded child tax credit. You’ve got the families of over 60 million kids, on average, getting $430 a month. For people on fixed incomes, older people on social security, they’re getting those fixed payments adjusted next year up 5.9% for inflation.”

“And the dirty little secret here Willie, while nobody likes to pay more, on average we have the money to do so. Household savings hit a record high over the pandemic.” She said. “We didn’t really have anywhere to go out and spend. And as we said a moment ago, we’re expecting retail sales this holiday season to break records. For those who own their homes, the value of our homes are up, and while the stock market isn’t the economy, you have over half of American households with some investment in the markets and they hit market highs.”

She then tied it all back to getting more Americans jabbed, the excuse du jour for the current state of economic misery. “So we need to put all of this in perspective. This time last year when you and I were talking, nobody had a vaccine. Now 200 million Americans do, and we’re seeing this push of demand and that’s pushing up pricing.”

The smug talking head was deservedly dragged on Twitter.

“Inflation airhead: NBC’s Stephanie Ruhle says the “dirty little secret” of people complaining about paying higher prices for food and fuel for their homes is they can afford it just fine. According to her, people should have been saving during the pandemic and stocks look good.” tweeted Nicholas Fondacaro of conservative media watchdog Newsbusters.

He added, “According to @SRuhle, people should stop complaining about paying more for food because the price of their homes has increased. So, should they sell their home or take out a loan on it to buy food?”

There were also comparisons to the arrogant former queen of France.

Others piled on the out-of-touch leftist media propagandist.

“NBC’s Stephanie Ruhle shrugs off skyrocketing inflation. Conventiently ignoring there’s ligitimate reason for complaint when spending $100 at the grocery store barely fills up a shelf in the fridge,” one Twitter user wrote. “Also, unlike her most Americans don’t have $5 million in assets to fall back on.”

“‘You will own nothing and be happy! they screamed,” added another.

Last week, Ruhle’s employer likewise attempted to put a positive spin on the crushing burden of high prices in a tweet that earned so much ridicule that it has since been deleted.

Despite the furious blitz to put a smiley face on raging inflation, there is no way that Americans are going to be bamboozled by Biden’s mouthpieces in the media and, according a new poll that shows that Democrats are in for a serious reality check in next year’s midterm elections, there is a growing realization that the leftist elites and their “let them eat cake” attitude will cost them dearly.
