The Biden administration’s disastrous energy policies are already hitting Americans hard and the news that the nation’s 46th president and his cadre of ideologues are mulling the shutdown of another key pipeline is a bone-chilling prospect as temperatures drop.
Reports of the possibility that the administration could put the kibosh on the Line 5 pipeline which transports around 540,000 barrels of oil and gas through Michigan and Wisconsin raised the alarm that already skyrocketing energy prices could be about to go even higher at a time when family budgets are being strained due to inflation while the White House remains indifferent to their suffering.
On Monday, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy sparred with White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over whether shutting down the pipeline was being considered, and Jen Psaki’s fill-in was no match for the journalist who continues to ask the tough questions that his colleagues in the pressroom seem reluctant to.
After being called on, Doocy asked, “The Energy Secretary says, about the cost of Americans heating their homes in the winter, It will be more expensive this year than last year, so why is the administration now considering shutting down the Line 5 pipeline from Canada to Michigan?”
Jean-Pierre responded, “So, Peter, that is inaccurate. That is not com… that is not right. So, any reporting indicating that some decision has been made, again, is not accurate.”
“But what I will say is… I’ll lay this out for you for a little bit here: Where we are at… where we are is… with this is that Canada has decided to invoke, dispute resolution provisions of the 1977 Transit Pipelines treaty,” she added. “We expect that both the U.S. and Canada will engage constructively in those negotiations. In addition to being one of the closest allies, Canada remains a key U.S. partner in energy trade, as well as efforts to address climate change and protect the environment.”
“I will also add this, too: is that the current… the current Line 5 pipeline is subject to litigation between Enbridge and the state of Michigan,” she continued.
“So, again, I would… it is inaccurate what you just stated, but,” she said as she insisted that the reporting was wrong.
“What’s inaccurate?” Doocy asked.
Jean-Pierre again denied that the reports were wrong, “The reporting. The reporting about us wanting to shut down the Line 5.”
The persistent reporter then threw her a curveball.
“I didn’t say wanting, I said, is it being studied right now? Is the administration studying the impact of shutting down the line 5?”
Psaki’s backup then fessed up, “Yes, we are. We are. That…”
Doocy went for the jugular, “So then what’s inaccurate?”
Jean-Pierre replied, “Well, I thought you were saying that we were going to shut it down.”
“No,” replied Doocy.
“But that is … that is not inaccurate,” stammered Jean-Pierre.
Doocy shot back, “Just asking.”
Jean-Pierre again admitted the possibility of the pipeline shutdown, saying, “Okay. Great. Great, great, great. But the Army Corps of Engineers is preparing an environmental impact to look through this.”
The economic plight of the little people just doesn’t seem to matter to the climate change zealots in the Biden administration. When asked last week about rising gas prices and any plans by the administration to increase oil production domestically, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm threw back her head and laughed hysterically.

Granholm also confirmed that Americans are going to be gouged and that they had better get used to it.
“Yeah, this is going to happen,” she told CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday. “It will be more expensive this year than last year.”
Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas took to Twitter to break down Biden’s war on the domestic energy industry and the jobs that are being destroyed.
No one should be surprised that Joe Biden is about to shut down another pipeline as winter approaches.
These people believe the world is going to end unless we abolish fossil fuels. Making it impossible to use oil and gas for energy is part of the plan.

Remember, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris *campaigned* on destroying the oil and gas industry.
When asked whether he would be willing to displace hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers to pursue his climate agenda, then-candidate Joe Biden said, “The answer is yes.”

And in the final debate before the election, Biden said unequivocally, “I would transition away from the oil industry, yes.”https://t.co/viffZJsNSR

So none of this should be a surprise.
On his first day in office, President Biden canceled the Keystone pipeline, killing thousands of union jobs and the first-of-its-kind net-zero emissions pipeline in the process.https://t.co/lxX1GK6bpk

Shortly after that, President Biden banned new oil and gas leases on federal land. This would be devastating to American jobs and forces the world to rely on energy from polluters rather than cleaner American energy.https://t.co/NzMbSNDv75

How devastating for American jobs?
“A drilling ban on federal lands and waters could cost the oil and gas industry up to 1 million jobs nationally by 2022, including 120,000 jobs in Texas.”https://t.co/a9LmZT2I0p

And most recently, Joe Biden launched another attack on American natural gas with absurd regulations on methane.https://t.co/YyI3ZfGmT4

Remember – Russian natural gas has 41% higher emissions than American LNG. Restricting our supply will just force global natural gas demand to be met by Russia instead.
— Rep. Dan Crenshaw (@RepDanCrenshaw) November 8, 2021
And what happens now that Joe Biden has gone to war with the American energy industry in the midst of a spike in energy demand?
“Rather than let American oil producers step up to the plate, the president is calling on our nation’s adversaries.”https://t.co/VjaHLILsY5
— Rep. Dan Crenshaw (@RepDanCrenshaw) November 8, 2021
Everything we’re experiencing – gas price hikes, energy shortages, unaffordable electricity bills – is a direct result of Biden’s anti-science, anti-American attack on our energy industry.
This is what happens when the radical environmentalist doctrine controls the White House.

Despite all of the malarkey about Biden being a moderate who would not be a Trojan horse for Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and other progressive lunatics, it is now obvious that his administration is driven by an extremist ideology that won’t be satisfied until the traditional domestic energy industry has been completely destroyed and replaced with their Green New Deal utopia.
