Quiz question from Calif. teacher disrespects Florida, Texas, Fox News, and conservatives in general

California’s education system, never the envy of the nation, showed its true colors a little more blatantly recently, when a quiz question given to students last week on conservatives made it clear where the teacher stands on the subject of left-wing ideological indoctrination in the classroom.

The question was part of a quiz given to students of a social studies class at Whitney High School in Rocklin, not too far from the state capitol of Sacramento, and asked students to identify “a group of complete idiots,” Fox40 Sacramento reported. The question was multiple-choice, and had the following list of answers: “A) KKK; B) all of Florida; C) Fox news; D) Texans.”

One parent, Jessa Krissovich, shared the screenshot with Fox40, and said she had a hard time believing this was an actual question: “it sounded unbelievable.” Krissovich initially didn’t believe the stories until seeing the question for herself, previously dismissing them and saying, “These stories have gone in one ear and out the other.”

“We all have different beliefs. This is the United States and we all come from different backgrounds and everybody should be okay with who they are,” Krissovich added.

However, another parent, who wished to remain anonymous, told Fox40 that there had been a history of this teacher’s blatant political bias and ideological proselytizing, overwhelmingly against Republicans.

“The question on the test is really blatant obviously and that’s out there. This has been the first time it has been looked at of him crossing the line,” the anonymous parent said.

Whitney High School released a statement on Saturday, assuring parents that it will investigate the matter after the outcry from students, families, and other members of the community, such as student Joel Alquicira, who had the unidentified teacher last year, who had the following to say about it: “I understand he’s just trying to make a joke, but that kind of stuff shouldn’t be on a test.”

The reaction on Twitter showed the stark division in America over such fundamental issues. One commenter was appalled:

While another seemed to support the teacher in such blatant political indoctrination in the classroom:

Given the political battle lines being drawn across the nation, the quiz, and the responses on Twitter seen above, may be a sign of the intensely polarized divide within America, in microcosm. It is unknown what if any discipline the teacher (who was never named at any point by Fox40 or the school or the parents interviewed) will receive, or given how school boards across the nation have been behaving in opposition to parents.
