Democrats continue to demonstrate that when it comes to COVID restrictions and mask mandates, they are not held to the same standards as the little people and Senator Chuck Schumer is a repeat offender.
The Senate Majority Leader was one of the Democrats who descended on Puerto Rico for the annual SOMOS conference, an event that regularly attracts New York politicians along with other movers and shakers where they schmooze, booze and cut deals. Video of a maskless Schumer cutting the rug while flouting the island’s indoor mask mandate is making the rounds on social media.
According to the territory’s travel guidelines: “Masks are required indoors, regardless of age or vaccination status. Those unvaccinated or between the ages of 2 and 11 must also wear masks in public areas when unable to social distance. Masks are required on all public transportation, including all ferries operating to and from Vieques and Culebra.”
But, as it has already been well-established when it comes to Democrats, the “rules are for thee and not for me” and that was the case with Senator Schumer.

The SOMOS event website clearly points out the mask mandate as well: “While in Puerto Rico: Masks are required in all indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status. Those unvaccinated or between the ages of 2 and 11 must also wear masks in public areas when unable to social distance.”
The bare-faced Schumer’s flouting of the rules drew a distinctly negative reaction from critics on Twitter, although the mask scolds in the media are once again missing in action.

These gringos always lecture and virtue signal how much they supposedly care about Puerto Rico… and here is Chuck Schumer, along with a bunch of NYC politicians, packed in a loud indoor space, violating Puerto Rico’s mask mandate. https://t.co/WlKkWPSqAr

Puerto Rico has an indoor mask mandate. ‘Rules for thee but not for me’

Schumer wasn’t the only prominent New York Democrat who was in violation of Puerto Rico’s mask rules at Somos. There was also new Governor Kathy Hochul and ambitious state Attorney General Letitia “Tish” James who used her office to eliminate scandal-soaked strongman Andrew Cuomo to clear the way for her own gubernatorial bid which she announced last week.

The dirty little secret that the media will never divulge is that when it comes to Democrats, masks are little more than political props, worn to virtue signal but quickly shucked when out of camera range.
Can someone explain the science behind wearing a mask only to remove it while approaching a crowd of people?

Concerns about being exposed to COVID are also seemingly absent with Democrats, whether it is AOC in her now-infamous “Tax The Rich” dress at the swanky Met Gala with New York’s beautiful people…

…or Barack Obama and his hundreds of guests packed into tents at his posh Martha’s Vineyard estate for the former president’s 60th birthday party where they drank and danced the night away at what would be decried as a “superspreader event” were it held by a Republican.
Obama partying maskless at his birthday bash.
The politicians don’t believe their own dictates.
They ruin your life while partying themselves.
They are tyrants & liars.
Why are we still complying?

While the masks have become a potent political talisman for the Democrats, they are not serious people who in a proper response to a national health crisis would set an example for others by practicing what they preach.
Hypocrisy is their gospel.
