Abortion stance aside, Biden claims Pope Francis declared him a ‘good Catholic’

President Joe Biden dropped by the Vatican on his trip across the pond for next week’s big climate change summit where he met with Pope Francis, a potentially awkward sit-down given his outspoken advocacy for abortion, a practice that His Holiness has equated with murder.

Biden, who is the nation’s second Catholic president, chewed the fat with the global leader of the Catholic Church in a closed-door meeting that lasted about 90 minutes where the two reportedly discussed matters including COVID and vaccinations as well as global warming.

Both the G20 summit in Rome and the United Nation’s COP 26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow are taking place in the coming days with Biden showing up empty-handed with his “Build Back Better” agenda currently stalled in Congress.

Following the meeting with the Pontiff, Biden spoke to reporters during a press conference and, when asked to dish on what they talked about, Biden remarked that the topic of abortion did not come up and that he was pronounced to be a “good Catholic” despite his administration’s crusade against the rights of the unborn.

“No it didn’t,” said Biden as he fielded a question on whether the abortion topic came up.

He added, “We just talked about the fact he was happy I was a good Catholic and I should keep receiving communion,” later ducking another question by saying that it was a “private conversation.”

The White House released the following statement following Biden’s get-together with Pope Francis.

“In his audience with Pope Francis today, President Biden thanked His Holiness for his advocacy for the world’s poor and those suffering from hunger, conflict, and persecution. He lauded Pope Francis’ leadership in fighting the climate crisis, as well as his advocacy to ensure the pandemic ends for everyone through vaccine sharing and an equitable global economic recovery.”

Biden took to Twitter to say that it was an honor to meet the religious leader whom he praised for “his advocacy for the world’s poor and those suffering from hunger, conflict, and persecution, and lauded his leadership in fighting the climate crisis and ending the pandemic.”

Some on Twitter reacted strongly to Biden’s accounting of this meeting with the Pope.

There are stark differences on abortion between the Vatican and Washington where Biden has waged war on states that have enacted pro-life laws, especially Texas which the POTUS himself has condemned as “almost un-American” and claimed that it created a “vigilante system” due to the provision allowing private citizens to sue abortion providers.

The Texas law is set for a high-stakes showdown in the Supreme Court, a co-equal branch of government that Biden accused of an “unprecedented assault on a woman’s constitutional rights” after the nation’s highest court declined to block it from going into effect.

If the SCOTUS rules against the administration and for Texas, the mother of all meltdowns will likely take place with renewed demands to pack the court with extreme leftist ideologues who will be hand-picked by Biden and his handlers.
