With President Joe Biden behind the push to force Americans to get vaccinated, Covid-19 madness continues to grip the country. Nowhere is this more evident than in public schools, where children are forced to wear masks for 7-8 hours a day in many areas of the country.
But mask mandates take a back seat to vaccine mandates, with California being the first state to require students 12 and up to be vaccinated. In other states, individual school districts require vaccines for those 12 and up. Cambridge Public Schools in Massachusetts is one such district. Nearby Somerville Public Schools urges eligible students to get vaccinated, according to its website.
And this is where a “mama grizzly” took exception to her 15-year-old daughter being denied entry to a school event for not having a vaccination card. Confronting the school, Jess Turner used her phone to record the encounter.
“So, my 15 year old daughter was denied entry to an event at Somerville High School because she does not have a covid vaccine card. She purchased her ticket the beginning of the week & 2 days ago the school passed out a paper saying only covid Vax card holding students can attend,” Turner explained in the first of a long series of tweets.

When told the vaccine was mandated by the state for students, Turner knew differently.
“When I informed the school student ‘leader’, she flat out lied and told me that the covid shot was a State Mandate and required for students. That is false. She then told me I was not allowed to record, which is also false,” Turner explained.

Having no tolerance for being confronted over what appears to be a rash, last-minute decision, a faculty member asked police to intervene and remove Turner and her daughter, she tweeted.
The faculty members then decided to ask @SomervillePD to remove myself and my child and trespass us. I’m fully vaccinated, by the way. This is discrimination. There were about 1000 unvaccinated children who wanted to attend but even if theyd bought a ticket, wld be denied entry. pic.twitter.com/LxpDwOldgS

Turner then shared footage of her explaining to a police officer that there is nothing on the ticket stating that vaccine cards are required, and that the requirement was only made two days ago and while students were informed, parents were not.
“While stalling so the ‘admin’ who is not an administrator can come over, @SomervillePD tells me ‘Don’t embarass your child’. My response is there is nothing embarassing about standing up for her rights,” the mother tweeted, along with the footage. “They tell me the place to protest is in court – my response? 1st amendment.”

The mother then shared footage of her conversation with Liz Doncaster, SPS Director of Student Services.
“Finally, ‘Liz’ the dir. of student services comes & says ‘I’m sorry you feel that way’ when I inform her it’s discrimination. She refuses to answer my question of whether or not she’s requiring vaccine cards for immunizations which actually are mandated, unlike the covid shot,” Turner tweeted.

She then produced the receipts to show the decision was “spur of the moment.”
“Liz” states that “several notices went out to parents and an assembly was held”

“There were no other notices sent out to parents. There was no discussion allowed from parents,” Turner said in a statement shared over several tweets. “I am not the only parent who’s child was discriminated against nor am I the only parent who objected their discriminatory ‘rule change’. My child was not offered reimbursement either. These students spend all day, 8 hours a day in school together, classrooms, bathrooms and not a word is brought up about whether one student is vaccinated for covid or not. Covid Vax is not a school enrollment requirement either. The fact that public school events are being restricted and entry only allowed to students who provide a covid card, whether exempt or not, is discrimination. Period.”
Unfortunately, Americans all across the country are learning that when heavy-handed officials with all the power decide to dictate terms, there’s not a lot of options for those who resist.
The push for children to get vaccinated will only intensify in the days ahead, as a Food and Drug Administration advisory committee voted 17-0 on Tuesday to recommend a smaller dose of Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine for emergency use authorization for those ages 5 to 11. This is the first regulatory hurdle for use in young children, NBC News reported. The issue now goes to the FDA, which is expected to make a final ruling in the coming days.
