Tucker delves into verboten territory discussing Jan 6 and election: ‘Of course there was massive fraud’

The corporate media generally frowns upon any discussion of alleged improprieties in Election 2020, but Tucker Carlson is willing to go there. “If the question is ‘was the election fair,’ tell me how it was,” he demanded Wednesday night on the Fox News Channel. “Of course there was massive fraud.”

Carlson asserted that those who attended the January 6 “Stop the Steal” rally at the U.S. Capitol, which devolved into a riot, had reason to be frustrated with the outcome. “It was never an insurrection,” Carlson insisted on “Fox News Primetime” while also emphasizing that rioters, regardless of their political motivations, should be prosecuted in court for their wrongdoing.

“It was a melee. People got super exercised. I think there were some complicated components. There were clearly a lot of federal informants and/or agents in that crowd; their role is still unknown. We should find out. But, in general, these are people who thought the election was stolen; they had some evidence to support that view. It was not a free and fair election,” Carlson told Will Cain.

The political/media establishment has consistently maintained that there was no “widespread” fraud in the presidential contest. Carlson, however, went on to list the various things that he considers sketchy about the Trump vs. Biden contest.

“You don’t have to believe that the voting machines were rigged to look at 2020 and say, that wasn’t fair. I mean, you shut down negative stories about one guy and highlight stories of the other?”

“I mean, Google stopped the Trump campaign from sending out fundraising emails on Gmail. Nothing like that has ever happened before. We changed the way that we vote; we did it by mail. Of course there was massive fraud. I mean, these are real concerns, whether they swung the election we can argue, but these people had a reason to be frustrated,” Carlson continued.

Carlson may have been alluding to Democrat officials in various key states who unconstitutionally bypassed the state legislatures by implementing far-reaching changes in election laws, such as universal mail-in voting, that turned out to be quite beneficial to then-candidate Joe Biden. For the most part, many courts were unwilling to take up the Trump campaign’s legal challenges on the merits.

“Democracy, which they really believed and turned out to be kind of fake, so rather than answer their questions or reassure them that our system is real, we throw them in jail?” Carlson asked rhetorically.

“What is that? I will tell you what it is: It’s a rotting, falling ruling class that sees its hold on power slipping away and is grasping even tighter, and that just never works in any regime ever,” he asserted.

Cain noted the many January 6 rioters, many of whom appear to be only charged with trespass-related crimes, are still languishing in custody without due process “as though a jail in D.C. is Guantanamo Bay.”

Carlson responded that justice must be meted out fairly without selective enforcement.

“If people committed crimes, actual crimes, broke statutes, defaced the property, assaulted cops, of course, punish them. We should punish rioters. I have said that for a year as we let Black Lives Matter destroy some of our biggest cities and no one was ever punished for it. But you should never punish someone for expressing his political views period, and above all, in a democracy, you have to answer people’s questions.

“And if the question is ‘was the election fair,’ tell me how it was. Tell me how it’s fair for the tech monopolies to act in concert with the Democratic Party to shut down the other side. That’s not fair, and if you claim it is fair…you’re a liar,” he insisted.

Earlier in the discussion, Cain claimed that networks like CNN and MSNBC (that often themselves traffic in conspiracy theories) are still obsessed with Donald Trump, but it doesn’t seem to be working for their market share as their ratings are circling in the drain.

Carlson described corporate liberal journalists as “marionettes” for the Democrats who spend all their time reciting liberal talking points. “And in exchange, they lose all of their self-respect and dignity….how can they live with themselves?”

He also called out Democrats like “sinister” and “discredited” U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who purportedly wants the feds to prosecute Trump to prevent him from running in 2024.

“[Schiff] believes the point of the Department of Justice is to take his potential political opponents off the table by putting them in jail…that attitude is a huge problem for democracy,” Carlson warned.
