A Pennsylvania elementary school teacher was arrested last Friday after a cafeteria worker reportedly overheard him threatening to shoot school officials for the supposed crime of having removed a plastic COVID barrier from his classroom.
Sinking Spring Elementary School teacher Chad Gerrick, 50, got so mad at school officials for removing the barrier that he allegedly threatened to “shoot all them f–kers” who work at the school district’s headquarters, according to York station WPMT.
He also reportedly threatened to “come to school and spread COVID to everyone I can” if he caught the virus now that the useless COVID barrier had been removed.
“The worker who claimed to have heard Gerrick make the statements reported the incident to school administration and submitted a written account of her recollection. She said Gerrick made the statements Friday morning,” according to WPMT.
Gerrick reportedly faces one misdemeanor count of terroristic threats.
Gerrick’s concerns about contracting COVID appear to have been unwarranted.
“Under normal conditions in stores, classrooms and offices, exhaled breath particles disperse, carried by air currents and, depending on the ventilation system, are replaced by fresh air roughly every 15 to 30 minutes,” The New York Times reported in August.
“But erecting plastic barriers can change air flow in a room, disrupt normal ventilation and create ‘dead zones,’ where viral aerosol particles can build up and become highly concentrated,” the left-wing paper added.
Linsey Marr, a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Tech, warned in a statement to the Times that a plastic barrier would cause “[e]verybody’s aerosols … to be trapped and stuck there and building up, and they will end up spreading beyond your own desk.”
Yet such facts tend to be completely ignored by COVID zealots, be they everyday Americans like Gerrick or government bureaucrats like Dr. Anthony Fauci.
According to the latest reports, the Pennsylvania teacher is currently on leave, and nine guns were found in his home.

Just this past weekend, Fauci doubled down on the alleged need for mask mandates, despite growing evidence that these mandates are having no discernible effect.
The Florida Department of Education reported last week that Florida school districts that aren’t forcing children to mask up have had virtually the same rate of decline in COVID cases as the districts which have imposed a mask mandate:

Some have pushed back on these sorts of numbers by pointing to data from Wisconsin showing that the spread of COVID in some communities far surpassed the spread in schools where mask mandates were in place.
But in the thread below, a senior researcher responsible for procuring the data — Tracy Høeg, a woman who admits she’d usually be apt to push this theory herself — in fact pushes back on the theory by noting a couple important discrepancies:

First, around 8% of the kids in the study were not compliant with masking. Second, kids ate lunch indoors (unmasked, of course). Third, the Scandinavian experience has been similar to Wood Co where school spread minimal but kids unmasked (https://t.co/YIzVk374EE).

But again, facts, logic and reason don’t appear to matter to COVID zealots.
Last month, an unmasked COVID zealot caused a disruption at a restaurant in Huntington Beach, California, over others not wearing a mask.
Make that make sense …

In addition to ranting about masks, the woman also declared her vaccination status and demanded that others show her their vaccination paperwork.
According to the Daily Mail, her outburst left some wondering, “Did the vaccine make her crazy?”
Probably not. But the media’s incessant fear-mongering likely did.
Classically liberal commentator Matt Taibbi recently noted in a SubStack post that the media’s messaging has created “the cult of the vaccine.”
He was particularly bothered by how every media outlet feels compelled to include a vaccine disclaimer in their stories, even when the stories are about other potential COVID treatments like molnupiravir.
“Writers began stressing a yeah, but approach, as in, ‘Any new treatment is, of course, good, but get your f–king shot.’ A CNN lede read, ‘A pill that could potentially treat Covid-19 is a ‘game-changer,’ but experts are emphasizing that it’s not an alternative to vaccinations.’ The New York Times went with, ‘Health officials said the drug could provide an effective way to treat Covid-19, but stressed that vaccines remained the best tool,'” he reported in annoyance.
Stuff like this, he theorized, is indeed making people crazy.
