The national catastrophe that is the Biden administration is hitting Americans in the pocketbook with prices skyrocketing and no end in sight as the holiday season approaches with the very real possibility that Christmas will be downsized for millions of families.
Now that it is no longer possible to ignore budget crushing inflation that hasn’t been seen since Jimmy Carter was in the White House, the already failed presidency of Joe Biden could take a serious hit in terms of public opinion when cupboards will be bare and children’s wish lists will be seriously whittled down out of financial necessity as well as unprecedented shortages.
The release of the latest consumer price index confirmed that inflation is accelerating with prices 4.5 percent higher in the month of September than they were last year when Biden was on the campaign trail promising a booming economic recovery and is bad news for the administration.
During Wednesday’s daily briefing, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was in rare form when she responded to a question about the inflation being transitory, suggesting that Americans are too dumb to notice that prices have skyrocketed since Biden took office.

“Transitory, I guess I don’t have an assessment of how many people know what that means or what that means to them,” Psaki said. “We know what the Federal Reserve and Wall Street economists and others are projecting is that the rate of inflation will come down next year.”
She continued. “What that means is that as people have seen these increase in goods, increase in some cost of goods over the course of the last year or so as the economy’s turning back on and as I would note we were turning from a period of time where the unemployment rate was high, people didn’t have a lot of excess money and wages to spend on goods so naturally, the demand has come up over the course of the last year that is the projection is it’s coming down” babbling on about the independence of the Fed.
Undeterred by Psaki’s spin, the reporter pressed on.
“I think to put a better point on that, I just mean that everyone was saying transitory in February and March, I understand the nuance and the economics, but when the deceleration is happening slower perhaps than people expected a few months ago and people are still paying ten or fifteen or twenty percent more for meat and they’re saying why, wasn’t this supposed to be transitory three months ago, four months ago, and we’re still here, does this make things more difficult to explain?” he asked.
Psaki replied, “Well, it requires us explaining and through working with all of you as well that the cost of meat is also related to competition and the small number of large meat producers who have a dominance over the market and the fact that a lot of these issues are not as simple as a one-sentence explanation and that different industries have different issues in the supply chains, different issues that are causing some increases in prices,” she said.
“And also because we all understand the American people are not looking at cost to cost comparisons from this year to two years ago, they’re looking at cost to cost comparisons to their checkbooks from eight months ago or twelve months ago and even though factually, if you look back to years ago things may be comparative, that’s not how people look at things,” Psaki said.
Her jaw-dropping statement drew a harsh response on Twitter.
“We understand the American people don’t have a home budget or know what that is.”

Got to give her credit for not collapsing with all that spinning she does.

@PressSec if Bozo’s cabal in their planning anticipated this engrained level of inflation, they they had a very bad plan. Stop with this transitory BS, it is real and inflation is killing America every day!

This Psaki is such a liar still saying inflation is transitory. That's why Biden polls are tanking, we're not as stupid as they think we are

So she’s saying their policies are creating inflation and they’re happy about it 😵💫 because everything is right on track.🤪 You should be happy that bread and your gas are now way more expensive than last year. If this was the Trump admin do you think they’d be saying this?🤔🤦

Earlier in the presser, Psaki also touted Biden’s plan to address the massive backlog of shipping containers stacked up at west coast ports, a major factor contributing to shortages and high prices that he said will keep the Port of Los Angeles open “24 hours a day, seven days a week” to address the disruptions in the supply chain.
However, shipping industry insiders are skeptical that it will make much of a difference.
“It will accomplish zero. It’s just window dressing,” said senior vice president for global ocean product at SEKO Logistics, Craig Grossgart, according to a Washington Post report.
Psaki’s ability to twist the truth into knots may fool many gullible reporters but it’s not going to save Biden’s plummeting approval ratings which are only going to get worse when Americans blame him for being the Grinch who stole Christmas.
