Woody Harrelson reportedly punched a dude who allegedly wouldn’t stop snapping pictures of the actor and his daughter.
The incident occurred on the rooftop bar at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., last Wednesday evening.
“A man who appeared to be intoxicated had been taking photos of Harrelson and his daughter, police said. Harrelson allegedly approached the man and told him to stop and to delete the photos,” NBC Washington reported. “But the clash continued. Harrelson told officers the man lunged at him ‘in an attempt to grab his neck,’ a police report says…Harrelson punched the man in what police called apparent self-defense.”
A witness to Harrison allegedly decking the other man on the roof deck supported apparently supported Woody’s version of events when cops arrived at around 11 p.m. Officers questioned the alleged aggressive shutterbug in his hotel room where he had gone after the scuffle, and the investigation is ongoing. The man may face charges.
Harrelson, 60, is in D.C. filming an HBO miniseries about the Watergate break-in during the Nixon administration, the same building complex where the Wednesday altercation occurred. Despite what will probably be some degree of hype in the media, “The White House Plumbers” may turn out to be yet another overwrought political drama that not many people bother to actually watch.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six gossip section, Harrelson was spotted two days later biking around D.C. in flip-flops.
His unconventional van has also been purportedly spotted. The media has often described Harrelson as a marijuana advocate.

“A Watergate Hotel spokesperson declined to comment on the incident. Harrelson’s speaking agency did not immediately respond to inquiries,” NBC added. Harrelson reportedly has had three prior altercations of some kind with photographers over the years.
Woody Harrelson first rose to prominence in the entertainment world for his Emmy-winning role as bartender Woody Boyd on the NBC sitcom Cheers. With 105 acting credits on IMDB, and three Academy Award nominations, he is perhaps more recently better known for starring in the first season of HBO’s True Detective and for the movie Zombieland and its sequel.
He also portrayed a retired lawman in The Highwaymen, one of a few movies branded as a Netflix original that is actually good. Starring Kevin Costner as a no-nonsense Texas Ranger, the film chronicles the investigators who tracked down violent bank robbers/folk heroes Bonnie and Clyde in the 1930s.
As host of Saturday Night Live, a program that reinforces liberal narratives masquerading as a sketch comedy show, roughly two years ago, he (or the SNL monologue writers) made a lame attempt at humor by joking, or trying to, that Melania Trump was the only immigrant who watches Fox News.
In a 2017 appearance on Bill Maher’s HBO show, Harrelson recalled a 2002 dinner with Donald Trump that led him to conclude that “I never met a more narcissistic man.”
Separately, last year he allegedly endorsed a conspiracy theory that 5G cell phone towers were somehow linked to the spread of COVID-19.
