Retired Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill blasts ‘Clintonites’ at Fox News: ‘Free speech is dead and the truth will get you fired’

Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Robert J. O’Neill, the man credited with killing Sept. 11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, has declared war on Fox News and the room full of anti-Trump “Clintonites” who called the 2020 election for President Joe Biden.

Even though he reportedly currently works as a Fox News contributor, O’Neill has been relentlessly pummeling the network on Twitter.

The first sign of beef appeared Monday, when he posted a tweet brazenly promoting one of Fox News’ top competitors, Newsmax.

Two days later, he dialed it up a notch by posting another tweet slamming Fox News for having been the first network to call Arizona and then later the 2020 election itself for then-Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden last November.

“Just a reminder: @FoxNews called Arizona for Biden with less than 1%in. Just sayin’,” he tweeted.

This tweet prompted a clap-back from Fox News’ Bret Baier, the host who made headlines for being the first one to refer to Biden as President-elect Joe Biden.

On Thursday, O’Neill turned the dial up to high-powered by accusing Fox News of not caring about its viewers and only caring about money.

“You won’t hear this anywhere else: Our mission was never to ‘rebuild’ that shithole called Afghanistan. Generals, admirals, politicians and lawyers came up with that nonsense. That’s why we lost,” he wrote.

“Seriously, don’t let @FoxNews fool you. They were in on it too. Personal power. They don’t care about you. It’s all about money. I care about you. They don’t.”

Both tweets have since been deleted.

The next day, Friday, O’Neill made an appearance on Newsmax’s “The Balance” and explained to host Eric Bolling the reason behind his tweets.

“I just wanted to remind people that Fox News calling this race like they did — I have several friends that were in line after they worked a full day, and they were saying there’s no reason to vote now because Biden just won it — and I don’t think a media outlet should be calling a presidential race,” he said.

He added that he believes “there’s a room” somewhere at Fox News’ headquarters “full of a bunch of people who’re Clintonites who decided they’re going to call this race for Joe Biden.”

He also claimed that he’s not the only Fox News personality who’s still upset over the network’s decision.

“There are really good people at Fox News, and I’m not going to mention their names, but I’ve never seen some of these people so furious at the way that Fox News just called this,” he said.

“I always try to tell the truth. I base my arguments on truth, and it’s easy to remember the truth. I just don’t want people to forget that Fox News did that, and I’m not afraid to say it.”

The truth remains disputed to this day, with Fox News claiming it’d done no wrong, and former President Donald Trump and his army of supporters, including apparently O’Neill, remaining convinced that the network had sold him out.

It doesn’t help that the network allegedly abstained from airing the former president’s rally this Saturday evening in Des Moines, Iowa:

Responding to the retired Navy SEAL’s argument, Bolling expressed agreement.

“I believe they had an opinion that Trump couldn’t become president, and they ran with it. When they made that decision, a lot of things changed. Because they made that decision before CNN did, MSNBC did, which you would think they would be because they were very much leaning left,” he said.

“But ABC didn’t call it, NBC didn’t call it, CBS didn’t call it. Fox was the first major media outlet to call, and that is the reason everyone calls that the shot heard around the world.”

A shot so fierce it triggered a massive reduction in Fox News’ ratings, though to be fair, the network’s ratings have since bounced back.

The sad thing, according to O’Neill, is that Fox News “became huge” by standing up to the establishment, not enacting its agenda.

“When Fox News was brand new, when Vice President Gore beat soon-to-be President Bush, Fox was the one that stepped up and said no, this is not the case,” he said.

“And that’s kind of how really Fox News became huge. And again, there are great people working over there, but to see the way they’re turning like this.”

He concluded his remarks my again stressing that he’s not alone: “A lot of people think the way I do. They’re just afraid to talk the truth like I do because they don’t want to get canceled. I personally think that I’ve paid a debt to this country. I should be able to say what I want, even though free speech is dead and the truth will get you fired.”
