White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s snarky response to a reporter’s question on whether the Biden administration was sending conflicting messages on the stalled spending package is yet another example of how little regard she has for members of the media who deviate from the official party line.
When asked about a retweet by Ronald Klain, President Joe Biden’s Chief Of Staff endorsing leftist spin on a New York Times headline that was less than flattering to the White House, Psaki doled out the sarcasm, rejecting the notion that the administration could be perceived as “talking out of both sides of its mouth.”
During Friday’s presser, the reporter asked, “This morning, Ron Klain retweeted a message that was supportive of House progressives who delayed last night’s vote on the BIF, saying that they were putting the Biden agenda on track. And I’m just wondering if you could kind of clarify Ron Klain’s, sort of, seeming support for that track of ideas versus what you’ve been saying all week, which is that you’re trying to get this done quickly?”
Psaki snarked back, “You have caught us. Ron Klain retweeted to send a secret message to the country that we were litigating against ourselves and arguing against our agenda.”

Psaki added, “I think that Ron Klain, the Chief of Staff — who I think most people know who he is — was just echoing the fact that there are a lot of good components of that agenda and we should get it done. Sometimes a retweet is nothing more than that: saying that — saying the agenda is good.”
On Thursday, the AOC-Bernie wing humiliated self-proclaimed “master legislator” Nancy Pelosi who promised that Biden’s $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill would pass this week when they remained unified in resistance, insisting that both the smaller bill as well as the monstrous $3.5 trillion spending package that is bursting at the seams with social engineering items be chained together in the equivalent of a high stakes hostage crisis.
Pelosi called off the vote leading the Times to describe the delay as a “big setback” for the Biden agenda, a headline that drew fire from progressives including Democrat Rep. Jared Huffman who wrote, “The headline should be that we are setting the Biden agenda back on track, not setting it back,” which was retweeted by Klain.

Contrast the reaction to Psaki’s dismissive response with the reaction to former President Donald J. Trump who was savaged during a pre-election town hall last year by NBC’s Savannah Guthrie after he retweeted a story on his “conspiracy theory” about then-candidate Biden and Seal Team Six.
Guthrie likened the leader of the free world to “someone’s crazy uncle who can just retweet whatever,” after Trump said that it was just a retweet and that people can make up their own minds, sending the left into fits of rage.
Pres. Trump: “That was a retweet, I’ll put it out there. People can decide for themselves.” @SavannahGuthrie: “I don’t get that. You’re the president. You’re not, like, someone’s crazy uncle who can just retweet whatever.” #TrumpTownHall pic.twitter.com/Im0QFy7VOU

There is no question that if it wasn’t for double standards, the left would have no standards at all.
